Awful - do not stay here unless you like bites and scorpions!
My wife and I have travelled extensively for many years and very much know the difference between good, average and poor accomodation. This villa is sadly awful and not at all what we expected after paying so much in advance for a week’s rental in early September 2022. Its failings were so great that we felt we had no choice but to leave after just two nights of our seven night booking.
On our arrival the villa had an unpleasant smell and within a few minutes I had several insect bites around my ankles, from the grass outside or the villa’s interior. In our first two days at the villa my wife and I received 34 BITES on our lower legs despite using plenty of insect repellent lotion. This became even worse on our second evening when we found a large and menacing SCORPION in the ensuite bathroom, which was so frightening.
The local agent had told us on arrival that we couldn’t use the bath and shower in the bedroom’s ensuite bathroom as it wasn’t connected and we were told we must use the shower room downstairs. Sadly the shower curtain there was old and black with dirt at the bottom and the grouting was equally bad. The seating in the lounge featured dirty, stained covers which made you not want to sit on them and, although the view from the nearby swimming pool was fine, that from the lounge was of tall bushes rather than the lake well below, unlike as suggested by the owner’s pictures.. Also, there was no wardrobe in the bedroom, just an old wooden hanging rail and a worn hanging canvas shoe rack. The bed and pillows were hard, making sleep difficult.
On top of this, the wifi signal was very weak and often it was impossible to connect to websites and check and send emails. Also, the lane up the hillside to the villa from the busy main road below is extremely narrow in places and great caution is needed as local drivers often seemed not to bother slowing down.
