Villa Russelia

We stayed at Villa Rousselia for a wonderful family holiday week in June: 3 generations, 7 of us including our 6 and 4 year old grandchildren. The Villa is beautiful in an isolated elevated position with spectacular sea views, accessed from a single-track unmade road, quite steep up the hill. The Villa is very well equipped with everything you need for a relaxing holiday. It is spacious and tastefully furnished; and the gardens are extensive and beautifully maintained. There is an olive grove also with lemon and fig trees just by the pool. There is a lovely sea breeze that blows (always windier on the West side of Rhodes), which helps keeping cool. The Villa was really clean and there was a large selection of towels and extra linen in various cupboards. The aircons in the bedrooms were really good, and helped keep the downstairs cool. We found a generous welcome pack in the fridge, and the kitchen cupboards were very well stocked with all the basics, plus many extras. We tended to have lunches on the terrace, perfect for meals and relaxing, and there is also a large covered area by the pool with a table, benches, BBQ and pizza oven, and the pool toys. In the evenings we ate out watching the sunsets at several great local restaurants just minutes away by car. (A rental car is essential.) We want to highlight that Emmanuel was really excellent: from the time of booking and throughout our stay his communication was immediate and he was always really helpful. He greeted us on arrival, even though it was late, and he gave us a detailed tour around the property, so we settled in immediately. As soon as an issue with the pool was noted, he immediately contacted the people responsible and acted as a mediator to help trying to fix the problem. Thank you, Emmanuel !

With 2 small children, we were extra vigilant because of the open-sided staircases, raised balconies and perimeter garden walls. Unfortunately there was an issue with the pool cleaning and filtration, such that we could not use the pool during our stay., but this was not a disaster, because there are several beaches just a few minutes drive away, with shallow sandy warm sea, greatly enjoyed by all.

The villa is very well equipped, isolated, with a perfect pool and perfect view to the beach. Minutes away by car from taverns, supermarket, beautiful beaches. Emmanuel, the hostess, is a very nice and helpful guy. He helped us immediately, fulfilled every request we've made and gave us some amazing recommendations.

The hostess came to the villa too many times, which harmed our privacy a bit. Also, one morning a gardener has came for several hours and it was unpleasant.

We had a wonderful holiday on Rhodos and we really enjoyed our stay at Villa Russelia. The Villa is located on the western shore of the island which is more quiet and more peaceful compared to the north east coast of the island where tourism is more developed. The location of the Villa is really beautiful and there is a fantastic sea view from the main terrace, the balconies and the grilling terrace. The pool is also great and also has a fantastic sea view. The house is located near ancient Kameiros which is one of the largest archeological sites on the island and absolutely worth a visit. The beach is only 500 meters from the house and there are some very good local restaurants on the beach. The garden of Villa Russelia is really beautiful and also the interior of the house is very beautiful and comfortable. The first few days we didn't have a car and explored the surroundings nearby (countryside with beautiful olive trees, the village of Kalavarda, ancient Kameiros and Kameiros beach). The last part of the holiday we rented a car because that was easier for shopping and going to interesting sites in other parts of Rhodos (Rhodos old town, the Butterfly valley, Lindos old town and ancient Lindos).

The location is amazing and the place is super comfortable

There was no air conditioner so it was very very hot especially at night
