Location is perfect as it is close to Placa Catalunya, and from there you could get anywhere in the city. The staff was very nice and helped us with heating the food in the microware several times. The hotel has the charm of the old Rambla building, but the room was very hot and not super clean. Although, cleaning lady came to make up the bed, which was pleasant and unexpected! Although it is a super touristic location, there is a good supermarket 5 min away.
The room / hostel didn't have basic facilities such as a kettle, for example. The whole thing with the accomodation prices in Barcelona is crazy, including the city tax that has to be paid even by the locals.
The room has no ventilation whatsoever and we had to keep the windows open even at night. The hotel provided a fan, but it was louder that barcelonese partys at midnight.
