The place is photographically advertised as being in a nice italian town square with a beautiful church. The reality, though, is that it is in the middle of gigantic works for the high speed railway construction. The place is basically a huge building site. The church is there but in the mid of heavy machinery and in front of a cemetery. No reasonable walk path is available to Peschiera town, as you have to walk among heavy traffic with unprotected pavemenys and the railway works.

It is very far away and you definitely need a car to get here - bus service runs like four times a day. It is next to the autobahn and there is some construction going on in the area.

Superb

A very attentive, personal and very friendly staff. The kitchen is fabulous. Do not go anywhere else if you want splendid food at very reasonable prices. The cook is both traditional but courageous in his interpretations. Best fresh ingredients. The locals come for pizza, which are good, but do try the tortellini, heavenly thin dough well balanced spices in a nest/ shell of Parmesan. Lovely. The antipasti a must as well. Located 2,5 km from downtown in front of a most beautiful small church. Expect church bells at 8:00 but a very quiet night.

Pleasant place but in the middle of nowhere!!

The staff were really warm and friendly. They went out of their way to make sure people were looked after. Full of smiles and nice to chat to.

Although the AREA is pleasant, near an ancient church, the LOCATION in relation to the rest of the attractions is very remote, if you don't have a car. There is very limited bus service (approximately one every 2 hours) and it takes about 30-35 minutes to get to the lake shore or town on foot. I was also expecting a landmark view from my room, as this was described in the booking details, but there was nothing nice to see put of my window (see photo)! The bed was too firm for me and the air-conditioning was not active at this time of year (although it was really warm inside the room).

Nice area, very friendly staff (especially the lady at the reception and in the restaurant), well-functioning air conditioner in the room, cleanliness and free parking space available. It turned out to be very convenient that part of the building is also a restaurant and bar.

Great stay, would come again!

After having have slept in two dorm rooms in hostels before my arrival, Locanda Al Santuario felt like an oasis in the desert. The staff was very nice and helpful, airconditioning was great and with the windows closed the church was really not to be heard.

This is not a complaint, as I was aware of it when I was booking, but it is a bit far from the city center and I was by foot. The route from the city center to the hotel was sending me to walk on the driveway. It might be advisable for future guests in a similar situation to rent a bike or grab a taxi.

Lake and air-conditioner

Dirty shower, too far to city and there wasn't any bus to reach hotel, religion symbols everywhere , personel who's didn't spoke any language than Italian, average and small breakfasts.

Very good value, the room was very comfortable for four with two queen size beds. Nice inexpensive dinner and breakfast included.

Just a nitpick really, but it’s very close to the autostrada and you hear the traffic at night.
