About this cottage rental
Friends Lake is a pristine jewel in the Adirondacks, exclusive with no public access appreciated for it's water sports and fishing. You can enjoy a private sandy beach shared with a small association of homeowners. The cottage is equipped with all the basics, along with cable TV and WiFi, you will need to bring your own beach towels. The camp has a large deck, picnic table, barbecue grill and fire pit making it the perfect place for your summer get away.
*Friends Lake is completely free of invasive species, and in order to keep it that way, we can not allow renters to bring/launch their own boats (this includes; Kayaks, Rowboats, Canoes, Motorized boats, paddleboats, etc.). Thank you for your understanding.* That being said there is a rowboat that is for your exclusive use during your stay, and the owner of the property has two kayaks that are for the exclusive use of guests (the kayaks are shared with one other property).
*Due to the size of the cabin, the owner asks that renters bring no more than 2 dogs*

Our vacation was one of the most relaxed and peaceful stay! Amanda was readily available for anything we needed! She even came the first night to show us where the rowboat was located. The area is beautiful and the cabin was small but comfortable.

My husband, our 2 Basset Hounds and I had a fantastic stay at this lovely cottage. Just as described, the lake is a short walk and the beach area is great for swimming, sunbathing and relaxing. Having the rowboat and kayaks was nice as we used both to explore the lake. The cottage was perfect for the 4 of us. The dogs loved laying on the deck and watching the squirrels and chipmunks scurrying in the pine trees all around. Kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, utensils, etc. for cooking (which we did all but 2 nights). Great restaurant in Chestertown called The Bullhouse (had vegetarian options too), which is a 9 minute drive. Friday we got takeout pizza from The Pizza Shop in Warrensburg and it was great (17 minute drive). Comfortable couches and queen bed (didn't use the other beds in the 2nd bedroom). Fans and heaters available depending on the temperature swings. It didn't get cold enough to use the wood burning stove inside, but was a beautiful feature that added to the ambiance of the cottage. Fire pit was a nice addition and plenty of cut wood to use. Very clean upon arrival and Dan met us to give a tour of the cottage and beach area. There is no outdoor hose or shower, so I did sweep a few times during the week as we inadvertently tracked sand and pine needles into the cottage. Vacuum, broom and dust pan available in the closets. Seemed like a mix of people that were renting cottages and people that own and stay for the season. Lots of friendly dogs and people in the neighborhood. Overall a fabulous location and cottage and we are grateful to have found this place. We definitely will rent next year! Thank you to Amanda and Dan!
