The chateau was full of charm and character, the rooms were traditionally furnished in keeping with the period of the property. We stayed in Victor Hugo. The gardens are attractive and meticulously maintained, mostly topiary. There is a small cafe and gift shop serving refreshments. We enjoyed the pool which was peaceful and quiet. Breakfast was served in the exquisite dining room, at a large table with the other guests, it was very amicable and the food was ample and varied. Don’t come here if you want TV in your room or ultra modern decor. This is a very traditional French chateau and a family home, the owners are very welcoming. We will definitely return.

Both the house and the gardens are absolutely stunning. The property could not be any more beautiful.

A charming property with lots of character with okay gardens and a lovely swimming pool. Nice breakfast, lovely chef come cabinet maker called Nathan! Good cafe, albeit closed when we arrived.
We were aware that the hotel was remote but had not quite prepared ourselves for the lack of amenities, especially on a Monday. Reception told us restaurants would be open by they weren’t (on a Monday), but that’s France. - Not the most friendliest of arrivals which got my goat a little, especially considering the money we spent (2 nights). - Travelling with a baby and upon arrival we were told the cafe was close with no real effort to offer food or drink after a long journey. -Room is tired, and without sounding too controversial, the B&B needs some money thrown at it/modernising (tastefully of course). Our room windows were buggered, the ceiling cracked, several splinters in feet from wood flooring. Water worked intermittently. Also no fridge which we needed for baby milk etc, bearing in mind no restaurant. We were also not given new tea bags or biscuits the second day - the little things you’d expect at this price and go a long way with me and something I shouldn’t have to ask for. - Breakfast at an additional 25euro per person per day? It’s a B&B for Christ sake, surely breakfast should come with the rate. We took the hit but felt this was an absorbent amount considering there were no other restaurants in the vicinity. We were asked what time we wanted breakfast the first day but no sign of anyone the second day to ask. - Hugely, massively over priced for what you get. If you’re from a country with little history then you’ll love it but being from England there are many country gardens and estates and I got the impression the gardens are the selling point, which don’t get me wrong, were beautiful but nothing spectacular and not worth the rate charged. This is NOT a hotel in my opinion. A bell boy or someone on hand floating around the b&b would be my advice. The sons running the show seemed nice but we hardly saw or spoke to anyone bar the chef at breakfast. Oh and the ‘bar’ also needs some new drinks.
