Lovely autumn weekend by the sea

Rooms clean and good size, very friendly staff, good breakfast, great location by the sea, rooms have a wonderful view of the Adriatic Sea. Nice atmosphere at night with live music on the terrace of the hotel. Great for families with children as many things to do, pools, water park, etc.

As most of the guests have half-board, hotel restaurant not very flexible with “a la carte”. But there are many places to eat close to the hotel.

Beautiful hotel but Unprofessional receptionists

The property is beautifl, newly renovated hotel, pristine clean and comfortable with a really nice and variable breakfast

However, the staff of the Plava Laguna hotel we definitely disliked because they misinformed about pool usage. In hotel Sipar there isnt a pool but we were told we can go to hotel Umag and pay an additional fee. So we went there, but we came a bit after 8 pm so they told us to come in the morning. But in the morning my kids and I came to hotel Unag again, and instead of being greated and accepted and allowed into pool spa welness facilities, they just told us at the reception that this is no longer an option for outside guests. And that we need to go to garden istra hotel by a car to use their pool. Since I also neede to attend the umag race there wasnt enough time so in the end we were able to enjoy the pool for only about 20 minutes. Why werent we told the roght information right away and not being sent here and there with my kids who experienced disappointment three times

Great except for the dinner experience.

1. Close to the sea and can switch between swimming in the pool / the sea without having to walk through the lobby. 2. Bar by the pool.

1. We had to pay an obscene amount of money for the drinks at dinner. 2. Poor configuration of the dining hall: it cannot hold a large amount of guests coming in at the same time as tables were not yet avaialable. The countertops with food trays were unfortunately all in a single line and people, instead of passing freely between them, had to unnecessarily form a queue which caused a further delay.

way overpriced for what it offered

We booked half board for 7 nights and got free access to Punta pool which was very appreciated by the kids. Staff was very nice, helpful and spoke English and there is free private parking. It is located in a quiet place, near the ATP stadium, with lots of tennis courts for rent.

-Horrible sewage smell in the room, we thought is was due to the ventilation and reception promised to get it fixed; They did something, no noticeable results. The offered us another room, the smell was the same if not worse; that is when I realized this hotel has a general issue with the sewage system, because that smell persisted also at the entrance, so we would have to cancel our reservation and find another hotel; this was not an option for us with two small kids. -I believe they do advertise private beach, but that is actually concrete; other reviewers praised the sandy beach; well... first of all it is public, very narrow (20-30 meters only) and very crowded and dirty; Some folks wanted to charge for the sun beds, but won't bother to keep it clean. -food was dull and tasteless, apart from pizzas. Sweets were no sweet, the rest of the food was either not salted , either too salted. Fish was rubber, tried to eat multiple times, none was good. The grilled stuff, but the chef was in a hurry so the meat wasn't cooked. The most annoying thig is they don't give you any water, even tap water and charge you 4Euros for 750ml bottle, which is robbery. -restaurant was designed in such a way that it was always crowded, it is like a long lobby. -most of the time there were no towels available, I had to chase the guys multiple times per day to get it. -we payed a whole lot of money for the half board, but if it wasn't for the small kids, we would have cancelled right away.

3-day vacation before the start of the school season

The hotel is ideal for families. It's definitely a kid-friendly hotel. We enjoyed almost everything. We have to say that we really like the services provided and the staff. I want to thank Martina (the manager) for fulfilling a request that I made. The staff at the bar is also very friendly. The hotel has a "private" beach in front of it. The waterpark for guest use is also nice. Small "sand" beach nearby.

I would not say that I did not like it but I think when the season is over, they should repair the pool. Some tiles are missing and can be dangerous to the kids. Also, the dinner was indeed very crowded but it was mid-August so I think within this period it came as a bonus. Finally, something that really bothers me is the fact that non-guests would take the sunbeds - I think the hotel should do something about this.

Disappointment. A crowded hotel, with significant problems.

The beach was close and the salt pool was ok. Staff was courteous despite being apparently overwhelmed.

The "aqua park" shown in the hotel photos was separate and 200m away, so kids cannot go on their own. No drinking fountains at all and no drinks in the dinner at 30c+, only paid drinks, despite booking and paying for half board. Food was passable at best, and the dining room was extremely crowded and does not fit the number of guests. The Umag marina is actually quite far away (25m walk). Salt pools were small, as was the close beach. Everything was crowded.

Beautiful vacation

Excellent location close to the sea. Incredible view from the balcony. Delicious food and a large selection of dishes. Umbrellas, sun-beds and beach towels are included in price. Friendly personnel. Hotel has beautiful tiny restaurant on the beach where you can have tasty lunch and delicious coffee. It was very beautiful vacation. Thank you very much, we would come here one more time.

Good value hotel with great staff

Staff were very friendly and professional. Breakfast and dinners were good with decent variety offered. There is no charge for sunbeds. Pool/beach towels are provided. Clean and good-sized rooms with balconies. A welcome drink is provided.

There is no free bottled water in the room. Most of the parking is unpaved/gravel. There is no garage or covered parking.

Great selection of food . Well maintained pools and aqua park for kids

People were asked to come for dinner at certain time . Hotel restaurant not opened for our floor until 7.45 pm ( not allowed to come earlier due to kitchen staff not capable to serve to amount of people who currently stay in the hotel ) We were told off for coming once earlier at 7.30 pm And allowed to enter the restaurant until 7,45 pm !! This is appalling not giving the choice of time they wish to have their dinners and sorting the people out by floors ! Clearly they need to employ more staff to be capable enough if the hotel is full .

Facilities were perfect for our family of 5! The food was OK, everyone who worked in the restaurant was very friendly.

However the staff that works the front desk not so much.. They seemed to treat everyone who did not speak their language as though not really worth giving a friendly greeting or the time of day. But they would gladly take our money

Perfect time with family

All was perfect. Maybe just small thinks which are not so important like birds nest on the balcony and small dirt from this or more sustainabile packaging (refulfiling) for soap. But this is really small think. Perfect food, personal and location. Highly recomended from my side!!!

I woud suggest more sustainable solution for shower gel and soap.

The three of us spent a nice week in this hotel. The hotel staff, from the first to the last, were very kind, helpful and unobtrusive. That created a good mood everywhere. The room was clean, comfortable and big enough, as was the bathroom. The sea view was beautiful. We had a large and varied selection of dishes for both breakfast and dinner. Along with baked and boiled dishes, there were a plenty of quality fresh fruits and vegetables. We liked the surroundings of the hotel, lots of greenery and opportunities for walking.

It would be very useful if you could mark which dishes are vegetarian/vegan/glutenfree etc.

Exceptional

The hotel is new, spacious and very nice. Choosing the room with a sea view was a good choice, especially taking into account the price difference was really small. The room is big and there is enough space for the family with two kids. Again, the terrace and sea view were breathtaking. The surroundings are wonderful. The breakfast was good and there was variety of everything. We enjoyed with kids. Hope to come back again.
