really helpful staff, very peaceful location
the room decor could do with a little updating for the price

Beautiful view from the ridge cottage
There was no shower gel provided only shampoo and conditioner . No electric light directly in the shower area so dark when showering at night.
The coffee station in the cupboard smelt of drains.
Very very small table for breakfast, difficult to eat at.
A steep and winding driveway to the hotel.

Is in the same property as the restaurant
There is no link to the restaurant. The price is too high for the value offered by the property.

Spacious, shady, great views
Difficult to navigate environment unless physically strong. I’m a part time wheelchair user and despite flagging this pre-trip no one considered what that might mean for me getting around the site

Beautiful views and friendly staff
The place has seen better days. The patio was dangerous and in much need of repair.
The room was badly laid out with dubious electric connections.

The property is beautiful. There are just a few rooms which are big, nicely designed, and have large verandas. There’s even a wood-burning heater. Delicious breakfasts are served in the lovely pool house. There’s an accessible restaurant called Drumstruck nearby that we enjoyed and a zipline company attached. A short walk reveals lovely views of the surrounding vineyards. We had no trouble with getting Ubers. The staff here are truly warm, friendly, and very helpful. We loved our 3 night stay here!
The property is pretty far up a hill from the street though it’s flat once you get to the hotel itself. Great for the views but not an easily walkable hill.
The very high-end restaurant, La Colombe, looks like it’s part of the property but it’s not affiliated and is booked solid for weeks in advance.

Super comfortable bed, thoughtful touches, lovely fireplace, spacious room, beautiful grounds.

The staff were excellent, friendly and very helpful. The nature is beautiful and the accommodation could do so much more to embrace the natural beauty. The breakfast was tasty.
The accommodation is old, run down and cold. The bathrooms are really tired, shower not draining properly with mould on the tiles and generally desperately in need of some upgrading and TLC. The outside patio furniture is old, uninviting and uncomfortable. The breakfast room is tucked away and the noises (cooking, not staff) from the kitchen is a bit unnecessary.

The heated blankets and waters bottles were appreciated during the cold wet weather, as were the fluffy dressing gowns.

Location and setting.
Receptionist was not on site when we arrived and we were looking for someone to assist us for 10 minutes.
Very noisy staff late in the afternoon. Noisy individuals from LaColombe (I think) shouting outside at 1am in the morning.
We are a couple with two young children and decided to get away to get a good night’s sleep, which we did not, given the noise on site.

Nice location and very comfortable. The electric blankets were very welcome!! The gentleman doing the breakfast was great - friendly and professional service.
We couldn’t figure out how to switch off the outside lights and one of the sliding doors onto the balcony couldn’t open, but nothing major.

Location lovely but overall experience a bit sloppy and disappointing. Breakfast options limited and very quality very average. We were last to breakfast and the room and self-service area was messy and understocked (We had to ask for water for the kettle, more milk, butter etc.) Roof was leaking.
I expected more from an upmarket venue.
Staff are friendly and sweet but a bit undertrained.
A golf cart for moving guests between accommodation and main area (and luggage) would be good. It was pouring rain and we had to walk our luggage up and down muddy paths/stairs.
Room equipment missing (cutlery and crockery pieces, hairdryer, firefighters etc)- a bit of a concern as we had to pay a deposit on arrival to cover anything broken/missing following our stay. Balcony door needs attention (very difficult to open and close), bath tap leaks at a constant trickle. Shower is beautiful but rest of the bathroom could use a revamp (Sqirrel unit)
The leaf blower went on outside our room for over an hour (on a Sunday morning)- a bit of a distraction from the pretty, relaxing atmosphere. (One of the main hotel rooms. We were moved here to accommodate our late checkout request)

The location was very beautiful and the room was good.
The bathroom in our room was not great. The tap broke (while we were there) and because it was after hours (17:30), there was no one to fix it or call for assistance. Therefore we could not use the basin. There was also a lack of toiletries in the bathroom. Only shampoo in the shower, not even a soap or body wash. The breakfast offering was terrible. We did not stay for breakfast.

We stayed one night only and it was lovely. We loved the fireplace in the room and the heated blanket was so nice on the cold winters night. Beautiful setting and we will definitely return.

The staff were very friendly and excellent with their service. The location was amazing.
You could see that the unit we stayed in was a little run-down and needed some maintenance. The breakfast experience was also poor. Dirty cutlery, not great service, and limited food options. For the price we paid, I expected more from the place.

Staff were wonderful, especially Rowena and Nicola.
Room was a bit dated and the bathroom lacked ventilation. This meant the room was a little musty if we were away all day and unable to air out the room adequately.
Otherwise, this was an excellent stay. We had family staying nearby, but we were very grateful to escape the family chaos with our room in the trees and the garden pool.
Room ventilation could be improved

Loved everything. Property was stunning.
The cottages = Best.
Scenery = Best.

We went for the 2 Oceans marathon, so the location in terms of that was perfect. The breakfast is very basic but the coffee is nice and the setting is beautiful under the trees.
We stayed in the cottages below the hotel, which are a bit run down. There is no aircon in the room, no water (apart from the ones that you can buy) and the bathroom is outdated with taps that you struggle to open. Reception opened late both mornings that we stayed there and we had to wait to check out.

Beautiful location and comfortable room.
Nothing.

Lovely views overlooking a valley- great if you want a quiet location. Clean linen, towels etc and a large unit (but dated) and parking outside the unit is handy. The cooked breakfast was good.
The unit is dated, and needs a refurbishment (stained carpets etc, very old bathroom)- especially considering the cost being paid per night to stay here. Whilst the cooked breakfast is good, the buffet options are extremely limited and if you don't get in early you'll have to wait a while for your cooked breakfast order as there is only one lady who manages the breakfast (Rowena is lovely though!).

View from ridge room
Bathroom issues with leaking toilet bowl and flushing. Rather off putting although ‘owner’ did try and assist but still it wasn’t what I had looked forward to. Previous reviews mentioned the Owl cottage bathroom needs updating and that is absolutely true.
