Nice apartment, 10 mins to walk from the city centre. We had the apartment on the ground floor, but it looked nice to have the apartments with a balcony.

The host, a young man, was/is staying/living in Zagreb, and he did not always reply promptly on booking.com message. This was a bit tedious, as his mother, who he had left to take care of the apartments, did not speak English.

The apartment was clean, well located, and within easy walking distance of the town center. We especially enjoyed the nice balcony, and we felt the price offered good value for the location.

The apartment is best suited as a place to sleep and not much more. There isn’t really a comfortable space to relax or spend time indoors, and the cooking facilities are quite limited. If you’re looking for somewhere to prepare meals or hang out, this may not be the best option. The person we communicated with on Booking.com was not the person who welcomed us. Instead, we were greeted by her mother, who did not speak any English, which made communication difficult. The check-in process also felt quite informal. We were immediately asked to pay in cash, which caught us by surprise. Although this information was included in a Booking.com email, it was buried in a very long message with lots of other content, so we feel it should have been communicated much more clearly. There was also a very strong emphasis on turning off the air conditioning whenever we left the room. There were notices stating that staff could enter the room if it was left on while we were out, which made us feel uncomfortable. The check-out experience was not ideal either. Check-out was at 10:00 a.m., and just a few minutes before that we were reminded that it was time to leave while we were still finishing packing. We also received repeated reminders to turn off the air conditioning, and a staff member entered the room to switch it off herself. No one was impolite, but the whole experience felt unnecessarily awkward and rushed. Finally, we noticed that some of the cutlery had not been properly cleaned, a few of the electrical outlets in the apartment did not work, and the towels provided were very small. It would also be helpful to provide clearer information about parking, as it was not obvious where guests should park.
