Lovely stay

Central location with parking. Homely feel and good garden space. Garden toys & board games to use.

The towels for showering were small (would benefit from size up). The kitchen bin hadn’t been cleaned properly between guests.

A very pleasant and well presented house.

The location was excellent and the parking area was generous. The host was attentive. The kitchen was really well designed and well equipped. The house was very clean, and we appreciated the Christmas decorations.

The shower upstairs could have been better. The downstairs shower room was extremely cold - three external walls made this inevitable in cold weather.

A fantastic weekend at a cosy home in a wonderful location.

Lovely property which felt like a home from home. Well supplied with all essentials, plus extras such as books and games. Very comprehensive information on the property and the local facilities. Rebecca was a brilliant host.

Everything we could have hoped for.

We loved everything about it. Comfortable, Spacious. Good location in quiet road with easy parking but easy walk to the centre of Wells. Lots of places to eat out nearby. Attractive property. Well-equipped kitchen. Clear instructions about how to use appliances, hot water and heating. Warm and cosy.

Not clear about whether we could pack on the grass at the back of the property but it didn't matter because there was plenty of space on the road.

Excellent accommodation.

Very clean and well kept with good parking. Beach, walks, eatery’s, pubs, Coast Hopper bus terminal, grocery shop, in fact everything we needed for a super short break.

The location was outstanding! A very clean, modern house with everything and more you could need. It felt like a home away from home where the host actually took pride in making the property look stunning and very well organised.

The hot water seemed to be abit hit and miss for a bath (we probably used up the hot water from the tank before running a bath)

Very convenient location for town harbour and beach. Spacious and very well equipped kitchen. Lots of games and books. Nice garden with barbeque and outdoor furniture and ample parking aswell.

The house was in a great location. It was very roomy. The kitchen and dining area was amazing.

Unfortunately the freezer was filthy. The counter tops in the kitchen could have been cleaner. We thought there was supposed to be a dvd player but couldn't find it. We also had difficulty with the door keys not fitting properly

location good.

no grab handles in showers. Towels one bath towel provided in upstairs bathroom one hand towel provided in shower room downstairs. Quality of toilet paper.No sun shade in garden. Radio would have been nice couldn’t rely on t.v.reception no signal did follow instructions. weather very warm a fan would have helped. The only property we have stayed in and not been left a welcome pack.

The perfect place to stay in north Norfolk Its within easy reach of numerous attractions.

Located minutes from the harbour in a very quiet road. the west facing patio and garden had full sun until it went down and were very sheltered; perfect for sitting outside in the evening. The bed is very comfortable and the kitchen well equipped with plenty of space. All just what we wanted.

Very difficult to think of anything meaningful, a potato masher could be useful !

the shower, could not adjust it. could do with a better quality shower and also a shelf and grab bar ,for an older couple not really good enough. grass in back garden was long when we arrived and was cut at the end of our week after we mentioned it, should be cut every week this time of year. two small points worth considering.

Location was a 5 to 10 minute walk from all eateries of which were excellent. The quay and shops.

the shower room needs a non slip mat in the shower and one for standing on when coming out of the shower.

Great location for short or longer breaks in Wells

Location was excellent as just a few minutes walk from the quayside and shops, restaurants and pubs, and only a 20 minute brisk walk to the beach. The enclosed garden was great for the dog, on and off street parking good. House was pleasantly refurbished and the open plan kitchen diner with link out to the garden would be great in the warmer months.

Good

Location was great, property was quiet and there was private parking. It was also warm with the heating on. Perfect for a short stay to explore Wells and if you were planning to eat out for the majority of meals.

The duvets were thin, not really suitable for winter. The sofas were not very comfortable and the kitchen was not really well appointed if you were planning to stay for a long time/do lots of cooking. Some of the decoration was quite tired (scuffs and bashes on walls, around radiators etc).

I would definitely book Avocet House again and would recommend it.

The location was great, just out of the hustle and bustle but only a short walk and there was entertainment, food and drink. The securely fenced garden was great for the dogs and parking at the back was good as I would have been wary of parking on such a narrow road. The instructions left for operating shower, water and heating etc. were straightforward and easy and the touristy info was helpful.

I'd be being very picky but the guest towels were a little worn and I couldn't find an outside light directly on patio.

Ideal location but not the cleanest of places to stay

great location - easy walk to the beach and the local amenities. Ample off street parking and a spacious kitchen/diner ideal for family time.

the level of cleanliness wasn’t as expected - I did contact the owner and was told that the clean was an emergency one as he wasn’t expecting to rent out the property. However, the level of grime in some areas wasn’t as the result of a last minute clean that perhaps wasn’t as thorough as it should have been but had built up over a considerably amount of time. The cooking utensils looked liked they had never been cleaned and we refused to cook with them so had to eat out for every meal which made it an expensive last minute break. The towels provided had seen much better days and had very little absorbency and some had holes in them and there was only one per person which is fine for a short stay but makes life complicated for a longer stay when the weather isn’t great. There was broken furniture in the bedroom; the washing machine was hidden under junk…. the divan beds in one of the twin room could do with a good clean. No pillow protectors and quilts that weren’t pleasant when the duvet covers were removed. A litany of moans I’m afraid, but the owner is going to refund the cleaning costs and will paying an ex gratia payment of £50 to put towards the cost of feeding the 4 of us.

Absolutly perfect of what I wanted

Location, nice quiet cul-de-sac, no noise whatsoever, a short walk to town centre - Well's main street, a short walk to Quay, plenty or room to park at back but was able to park right outside front door enabling easy unloading and loading. I will return.

House was in a good location for our activities. Had the facilities to do what we wanted to do and was of a very good standard.

Main bed was a small double size so wasn't particularly comfortable for a tall person.
