Upon arrival, we were greeted by lovely views, peace and tranquility, authentic Portuguese styled houses, beautiful vineyards and a welcoming owner, Rita. Our jaws dropped at how beautiful and unique this place is. And yet so close to a town, with great food, and hiking trails. This is a hidden gem. Our room was fantastic, extremely comfortable and completely renovated to include lovely period-styled spaces. We let Rita know that we were vegetarians and every morning a feast was offered including fresh croissants, rolls, cheese, eggs, yogurt, granola, fruit, juice, milk, tea, coffee, and all the necessary trimmings. On top of all that, we were welcomed with a complementary, delicious bottle of local regional red wine and fresh fruit. I should also mention there was a large pool on the property but we did not take advantage. We have not enough words to compliment and explain how wonderful our stay was except to say that we wish we had more time there and we hope to return soon one day. Thank you, Rita for your hospitality, kindness and for pampering us. You would do extremely well to choose this family Quinta.
I didn’t like that we had to leave. This is an amazing Quinta- NOT to be missed.

stunning property with amazing history. very well maintained, private, quiet and run by a lovely woman rita. she and theresa were so accommodating and lovely. the rooms had everything we needed. breakfast was spectacular. very private and quiet. it was superb

Beautiful rustic location, smells, sounds and surroundings. Wonderful hosts.
Everything was perfect except the bed - it was very hard and difficult to sleep on.

Beautiful retreat in an idyllic setting with views over a valley, surrounded by vineyards and forest. It was such a lovely getaway, and Rita was an amazing host - our room was delightful and had everything we needed, her breakfast and coffee was lovely, and the history of the 17th century property was a really special addition to the stay.
It was a great base to explore Amarante and the Douro Valley if you are driving. Parking was super easy, and the driveway into the property is all paved so it was a straightforward drive in.
The property has a super cute hiking/walking trail too. It was such a peaceful stay, we really loved it.
Nothing - the only thing we didn't like was that we had to leave!
