Hôtel Mazagran

Did not partake in the breakfast. The staff were very helpful. Spoke excellent English which was very much appreciated. The shower broke but was repaired the same day. The elevator unfortunately was broken the morning we left and difficult to bring luggage down from top floor on circular stairs. Staff did help.

No air conditioning, but understand this is not European standard. We did have electric isolating fans which were greatly appreciated. Very noisy on the street at night as had front facing rooms, wanted to leave window open so could benefit from slightly lower evening temperatures.

The room was quite warm at this time of year but it is not advertised with air con so this is to be expected

The hotel was charming with the staircase and boutique style. The front desk staff member “Farid” was very friendly and helpful. He was a friendly face after having a rocky start in Paris. The rooms were clean and the maids tidied and provided fresh towels each day. We had an issue with the shower and it was fixed by the time we returned to our room that day. The bathroom in the family room was on the larger side which we appreciated. We stayed for 4 nights.

The hotel’s elevator was so small. You could only fit 2 small people in it at one time with no luggage. It is not an accessible hotel for people with mobility issues. The elevator only goes up to the 5th floor and our room was on the 6th floor. Because of feelings of claustrophobia, we had to walk up 6 flights each time to get to our room and with luggage. The location was not bad however, it was very noisy as the rooms face the busy street. Because there is no air conditioning in the hotel and our room was on the top floor, we needed to keep the windows open at all times. Very hard to get any sleep. We were too hot or it was too noisy.
