Centenario Inn

Very friendly and attentive staff. Lots of fruit for breakfast. Reasonable price, especially for high season. About 10 minutes walk from main square. Overall clean and okay for a short stay, but have to be prepared for a few downsides.

Two main problems - shower and noise. Stayed at this hotel twice over 10-day period (before and after the trek in the mountains) in 2 different rooms and shower was very inconsistent in terms of water pressure and water temperature. There is no heating in the bathroom also, so taking shower can be very cold experience in the winter (near freezing temperatures outside). Noise is another issue at nights - one of my rooms was facing the street and window literally has cracks in it, so you feel like windows are wide open. Hotel has wooden floors and they squeek - you can hear every person walking in the hallway at night, and people get up early in Cusco (for various excursions etc.), so noise begins around 3 am every morning. Breakfast could be improved as well. Even though I loved fruit variety, there is not much to eat otherwise. Only the last day of stay I learned you could order eggs from the kitchen.
