This has only happened to me one other time in all of my travels. Go figure, it happened in the most touristy area of New Zealand, Queenstown. Tells you about the clientele going in and out of this place. This place is a tourist trap. It's hot in the dorm, and it wasn't even hot out. I think the owner turns off the a/c when he leaves at night. There is little bed padding. There is no padding on any of the seats. The dorm floor echoes when people walk on it. The fridge is too small for the amount of people going thru. The WIFI went out. it's extremely inconvenient to remove your shoes and walk up and down the steep, narrow stairs. This may have been the highest price I paid for any hostel in Hokkaido so far. And it was the most disappointing stay. It's very clean and there is Dove body soap in the shower.
