Villa Savar Apartmani

Cosy appartment not far away from Brbnj ferry port. It have terrace with sea view. 500 metres to the local beach with small caffe. In half an hour to Sali village from which you can take excursion to Telascica park or boat trip to Kornati national park (agency office is on the harbour). Kitchen is equiped with everything you need for couple. Bathroom is good. In general, Dugi otok island was not overcrowded in the middle of July (and maybe never) and you can explore the nature and beaches without hurry. That was most important point.

Appartment is not so big but enough, furniture is new. Moskitos available sometimes inside. Internet was weak in evenings.

The stay in the apartment was truly pleasant. The studio is small, but it has everything necessary for a complete vacation, and the kitchen is well-equipped. An added bonus is the outdoor terrace with a sea view. The local beach is a 5-minute downhill walk and about 10 minutes uphill. The host, Tvrtko, was extremely approachable and hospitable. Savar is located right in the middle of Dugi Otok, making it an ideal starting point for exploring the island. It is recommended that you buy groceries for your stay in Zadar before taking the ferry, as the only larger store is located in the town of Sali and is naturally more expensive than mainland stores. We visited in June - peace, tranquility, no crowds - if you enjoy that kind of vacation, Dugi Otok is perfect.

As I usually do I will try to give my evaluation as objectively as possible to help other customers and tourists and, perhaps, give some suggestions to the manager of the structure to improve. We had the flat on the top floor attic and with a small terrace, it had been booked for no. 5 beds but then at the last moment we could only go in 4 people. Our overall assessment of the facility is however absolutely positive. VERY GOOD TO EXCELLENT: - Location: the house is in a very quiet area, surrounded by a few other houses and trees, very convenient to get to the sea (10 minutes walk) and also 2 minutes walk from the town centre (bus stop). There is a beautiful view of the bay from the terrace. - Structure: it is very new, recently built or renovated. - Parking: parking is available for the car in front of the house. - Security: very safe area (like the whole island), we left our professional bicycles parked behind the house all week without fear. - WiFi: free and very powerful. - Helpfulness of the host: he gave his availability to do a little shopping for fresh groceries with his car twice during the week as the nearest market is 16 km away and we didn't have a car (just the bikes). GOOD: - Appliances and equipment: the flat has new and well-functioning appliances, in particular a dishwasher, very powerful air conditioning, fridge with freezer, microwave, smart TV. There is also an iron and ironing board in the wardrobe (!). - Towels and bed linen available - Size: about 60m2, 2 bedrooms, 1 living room/kitchen with a sofa bed, 1 bathroom with a very large shower, no bidet (but you'll never find this outside Italy....), 1 terrace on a slope with 1 table and 4 chairs and 1 clothes rack for laundry.

- Poor equipment: only n.4 clothes pegs in all (!!), forks and knives are counted (n.1 per person....), only n.3 rolls of toilet paper (in 8 days for 5 people they ran out after 3 days), no detergent to wash clothes or to wash the floor (but there is the bucket and the mop!). - It would be useful to let guests find some common things such as salt, sugar, oil, coffee, paper towels... which guests then leave for the next ones... it's really very convenient, some things you can't bring from home! - Parasol and deckchair on the terrace need to be replaced soon: the materials are very worn by time, the deckchair has bent pins, near to the breaking point so we didn't use it for safety, the canvas of the parasol wears out ready to tear. After a few years these things should be renewed! - The beds proposed as double beds are actually 1 and a ¼ place ....two adults of normal size cannot sleep there at all! Luckily there were 4 of us and we spread out each bed using the sofa bed in the living room by opening it up, if there had been 5 of us there would have been an extra bed to add in one room and that would have been a problem. It is a perfect flat for 4 people, no more, unless there are a couple of circus midgets in the group. - Some finishes in the flat still need to be completed, for example there are light bulbs dangling from the wall with no lampshade, electrical sockets torn out or without the socket, a couple of light not working, the bathroom door is warped and does not close except with a lot of effort and drastic manoeuvring, the newly whitewashed interior walls leave white lime on the clothes if you touch them.

The apartment was peaceful, well-equipped, clean and the host was very kind. The view from the balcony is 5*. 🤗

The water pressure is quite low.
