Stunning seaside home in the Scottish Highlands with its own private coastline

One of the best properties we ve ever stayed in. Well equipped and stylish cosy interior. Amazing views from every window. Beautiful garden and wonderful to be able to swim and see seals from the house. Nice walk to harbour and local shop and post office and to Gairloch beach from the house. We ll definitely come back..

We had a 2 weeks brake and enjoyed every minute. exclusive location, sunsets, quiet, ocean view, coffee with the dolphins...couldn´t have been better!

Another fantastic stay at Another Cottage.

Absolutely fantastic place to stay. The pictures don’t do it justice. Over the years we’ve stayed in a lot of holiday rentals but this is the best one. Lots of lovely beaches and walks in the area or you can just sit and watch the loch from one of the many picture windows.

My husband and I had our trip to Canada and Dominican Republic cancelled last minute with a positive COVID test. Very frustrating but couldn’t be helped. To ease the disappointment, I went in search of a bolt hole to disappear to after isolation. I came across this fabulous wooden house at the end of pier road in Gairloch looking directly out to Badachro and beyond to Skye. What an amazing house. Beautifully decorated, making the most of every angle so much so I never read one page of my book, I was far too busy staring at the view and watching otters and seals who came close to the shore. This felt very much like a place to relax. I was able to paint watercolours and a view that changed constantly. The kitchen was fully equipped, the bed comfortable and the shower pressure great. The wood burner was great with plenty of wood and the rest of the house was cosy with the hive system. We were really lucky with the weather and spent a lot of time wandering around coves and beaches. We hired e bikes from the Badachro inn for half a day and cycled further down the coast finding fabulous beaches to ourselves. We were slightly early for the season starting but did have a pint in Badachro inn and a meal in the Old Inn at the end of the road and although slightly disorganised on their first night, we enjoyed some great seafood so would recommend. All in all, a fabulous location, stunning home and provided a chance to chill.

We had a fantastic week at shore cottage. Very lucky to have sun all week ! Very well designed and furnished house with beautiful sea views, one of the best we have stayed in. Very peaceful location at the end of the pier road. Great for booking a boat trip. We went on the 4 hr trip around Raasay which was superb and saw loads of wildlife. Took full advantage of the beach front access, swimming, snorkelling and kayaking from the rocks (we had all our own equipment). The decked verandah was lovely and has sun from morning until night. We had bikes with us so cycled into Gairloch and visited many of the stunning beaches around. Short distance to Torridon for the mountains. Well stocked shop within walking distance. Booking and communication with Andrew the host was very easy. It was a lot more than we would normally have paid for a house of this size but this was prob due to covid restrictions increasing rental prices at the time.

A wonderful location and the pictures didn’t lie! Andrew the owner was helpful and prompt in responding to the questions we raised. The large picture windows enabled us to take full advantage of the lovely views from the house.

House was perfect, amazing sea views and we loved swimming in the cove below the house. Everything very clean and well equipped kitchen, didn’t want for anything all week. Great walking straight from the door and lovely cafe and shop at the harbour near by.

Shore Cottage is even better than the photos! A beautiful spot with its very own access to the sea loch. My whole family were mesmerised by its beauty and spent many hours just looking out of the window. Would highly recommend to any of those wanting to get away from everything for some 5 star R &R.

Well laid out property that certainly makes the most of the amazing mountains and views. When seating and chilling out staring at the view, it doesn't matter what the weather might be like outside you will find yourself transfixed. If you never leave the property and spent your break indoors you would not feel cheated.

We really enjoyed staying here. So relaxing to look out across the loch in such comfortable surroundings. Enjoyed the central location for visiting some of the stunning Wester Ross area. The house had everything we needed and the owners couldn’t have been more helpful. We would highly recommend this property.

One of our favorite places we've ever stayed, most notably due to the views from the cottage, which are are stunning at all hours. (Because it never really gets dark here in the summer, you can tiptoe out at 3 a.m. to admire the view in a magical twilight glow.) The hosts are charming and helpful, communication was excellent, and everything about the house itself is simply perfect. The surrounding area is low-key and wonderful for a family vacation, with plenty of kids' activities (kayaking, pony trekking, endless hours of picking up dead sea creatures on the beach.) Our nine-year-old sons loved climbing on the rocky headlands beyond the cottage, and by the time we left, I think they knew every rock. One of them took to throwing his arms wide and shouting out to sea, "THIS IS THE BEST PLACE IN THE WORLD!!" He could be right.

The house was just gorgeous, the views were phenomenal, the gardens and grounds were beautiful. Couldn’t recommend this enough. Will definitely be back. The owner Andrew was great and there for anything we needed.

This cottage is very well located, with a beautiful sea view, close to Torridon mountains, ideally situated on the western Ross. The house is very well equipped with all the modern comfort. The surroundings are beautiful. I highly recommend.

Beautiful property with fantastic views. Interior splendidly clean, modern and stocked with all the right cooking utensils. Ground floor shower fantastic. Excellent location. Close to the "Old Inn" which is a wonderful cosy pub serving excellent fish pie. Also only 15 mins from the "Badachro Inn" which is in the most idyllic setting and serves a fabulous Cullen Skink. A marvellous holiday and will definitely be coming back.

Our stay, from the moment we arrived, was perfect in every detail. The weather was as fine as one could expect for early May and really highlighted the property's design and location. We spent hours watching the loch for wildlife and we're never disappointed. The seals were constant companions when snorkeling around the rocks or catching pollock from atop them. Porpoises were frequent visitors as was an otter, although he was usually to be seen at dawn or dusk. Although the location is isolated, there is everything you need within walking distance or a drive of a few minutes. The food at the Inn was very good indeed and The Badroch Inn was the perfect waterside pub, just a few miles away on the otherside of the Loch, a great place to end a long days hiking. Everything in the property worked and there was no having to "get the hang" of anything. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend whole heartedly, a stay at Shore Cottage, Andrew and his family are charming people to deal with and we ourselves are looking forward to another stay.

We cannot recommend Shore Cottage highly enough for a break away in the highlands of Scotland . It is absolutely stunning and there is a huge amount to do in the area with and without children. We spent an incredible week at Shore Cottage at the end of September and completely fell in love with both the cottage, Charelstown and the wider Gairloch and West Coast area. The location of the cottage is stunning. It is at the end of road beyond Charelstown Harbour that leads nowhere else ensuring its complete privacy. It sits nestled in a small hollow that protects it from the worst of the prevailing weather but which allows it incredible views from the Torridon mountains in the East, south across the Loch to Baddachro and the Cuillin Mountains and west to the Outer Hebrides and the Atlantic - all bathed in the sun from rise to set. This amazing scene is occasionally traversed by the local fishing boats leaving and returning. Charlestown harbour and its small community is a gentle 5 minute wander, past the working pier where the fishing boats land their catch, where you find a small shop run by the friendliest people. They remembered our 10 month old daughter’s name and loved to shake her hand and chat to her which made her gurgle with happiness whenever we popped in for milk and basic provisions. Beyond the harbour is the Old Inn, a friendly and cosy pub and restaurant situated on the edge of the Flowerdale Estate and its beautiful, and accessible waterfall and forest walks. Charlestown really does have everything one could want for a quiet break and anything else in terms of provisions required is available in Strath, a short 5 minute drive to the west. Shore Cottage itself is a recently redeveloped house that fits beautifully with its natural surroundings, clad in larch wood. The back of the house is no more than 30 metres from the rocky shoreline across the beautiful semi-wild garden that is enclosed by a secure but discreet fence. The deck, that is accessed from the sitting room, overlooks the gardens and the loch and is just a stunning sheltered area outside to take in the views. The whole house is warm and cosy and there is ample hot water throughout the day, even when the house is full of guests.

We had the most amazing week at this property. The house was gorgeous, and as a family of four there would have plenty of room for others. The downstairs is mostly open plan, with one bedroom. The views from the enormous windows were gorgeous, and having escaped from a hectic time at work, really genuinely calming. The open plan has a large kitchen table that made for easily family dining, and the whole thing was of a higher standard than we have at home. The area is fabulous, from the rocks just a few metres out of the back door, to the 5 min walk to the Local cafe and shop at the harbour front. We went on a number of short (half hour ish) excursions from the house to fabulous beaches, beautiful gardens and various walks. This is the second time we have been to the Gairloch area, and we will be back again, and will stay at this house. It was wonderful.

We absolutely adored the house which could hardly offer more. Very modern and comfortable place with stunning views. Nice area with many things to see. Next time we will book the whale watching tour earlier, we unfortunately missed it...
