About this house rental
House Edi is a charming Istrian stone house built with a lot of care for a perfect vacation or remote working. This is a private house with one rental unit. In 2021 we had a lot of upgrades, including new kitchen, appliances, mattresses, furniture, workspace, grass and irrigation, outdoor furniture and installation of super fast fiber optic internet. You will be pleasantly surprised how relaxing, well equipped and comfortable our house is!
THE SPACE
House Edi is a traditional Istrian house with all the modern necessities you need for a relaxing and comfortable vacation or remote working. The house is spacious with an outdoor dining and lounge area, a large private pool and a beautiful garden. Please note that this is one rental unit. You can see 3 doors from the outside on the pictures and each of these doors is an entrance / exit from the house (one is the kitchen door, and the other two are bedroom / living room doors). Please look at the house plan in the pictures and the video for better understanding.
THE KITCHEN
The new kitchen was installed in 2021, including quartz countertops, large new refrigerator / freezer, dishwasher, microwave, hood, induction cooktop, oven, toaster, blender, food chopper, panini press, immersion blender, electric water kettle and two coffee machines. We have a Nespresso coffee machine with milk frother (aeroccino), filter coffee machine and a French press. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the necessary cooking utensils, plates, glasses, coffee / tea cups, pots and pans. If you like to cook, you will certainly enjoy this gourmet kitchen and our Mercer culinary knife set. The dining room table is a custom made solid oak table that comfortably sits 6 people and gives a rustic look to the house.
The kitchen has a wood burning fireplace which you can enjoy during cooler months. The whole house can be heated with wood from the fireplace which is connected to the radiators. Price of wood is not included in the rental price, however, we can supply you with wood at an additional cost or provide small amount of complimentary wood. We have 2 electric units for air-conditioning and heating which is included in the price.
THE BEDROOMS
The house has 2 bedrooms. The first bedroom is shared with the living room and the workspace area. This bedroom has one Euro Queen bed size (160 x 200 cm) which fits 2 people. This bed lifts and has storage underneath. Around the bed, there is a curtain for privacy since this is shared space with living room and the workspace.
The second bedroom is in the middle of the house. This bedroom has one Euro Queen bed size (160 x 200 cm) which fits 2 people. This bedroom also has two single beds (one measures 90 x 200 cm and the other 90 x 190 cm). All beds have bed lamps with wireless and USB charging for compatible smart phones. Please note that it is necessary to walk through the middle bedroom to enter the kitchen from the other bedroom / living room. You can also walk to the kitchen from the outside and then do not need to walk through the middle bedroom.
We provide the bedding including sheets, pillows, extra pillows and blankets for all the beds.
THE BAHTROOMS
The house has 2 bathrooms, both of which have showers, toilets and sinks. One of the bathrooms has a washing machine for laundry. We do not have a clothes dryer, we have a line for drying your clothes outside behind the house. Each bathroom has water boiler for hot water and a bathroom heater. We provide bathroom and pool towels. We provide hand soap and few starter rolls of toilet paper. We also provide a hair dryer, an iron and ironing board.
THE WORKSPACE / INTERNET / TV
The workspace is a remote workers dream! It is located within the bedroom and living room area. We have a nice desk, comfortable office chair and lamp with wireless and USB phone charging. We also have a 24 inch Dell monitor, wireless keyboard / mouse and ThinkPad universal USB-C docking station to connect your laptop to the monitor and Ethernet. We provide internet via super fast fiber optic cable with download speeds up to 500 Mbps. We installed three of the best Wi-Fi access points (Ubiquiti) to fully cover the interior and exterior. One access point is located in the kitchen, one is located in the bedroom / living room and one is located outside the house. We also offer the ability to connect your laptop directly to the router via the Ethernet cable in the office and in the kitchen. We have tested our speeds with multiple devices and reached speeds of 50-500 Mbps. The maximum speed we reached with a smart phone is 350 Mbps and over 500 Mbps with cable connection. You can see in our listing that airBNB verified our Wi-Fi internet speed which was 260 Mbps during the test. In the rare occasion that the internet is not available, we provide a backup hotspot with 4G SIM card for temporary use.
We have two TVs, one in the bedroom / living room and the other one in the kitchen. They both have Satellite and local Antenna channels. The TV in the bedroom is a smart TV and connected to the internet so you can login with your accounts to different apps. We provide an Anker portable Bluetooth speaker.
OUTDOORS
The outdoor area is 510 m2. The main attraction is the pool! The pool size is 4 x 9 meters (36 m2) and 1.5 meters deep. There is an outdoor shower by the pool. We provide towels for the pool. There are beach lounge chairs with cushions and umbrellas by the pool.
We also have a lounge set with a table and chairs with soft cushions for 4 people. This lounge set is covered with an awning. We have a fully covered outdoor patio with a table, seating for 6 on the benches, 2 very relaxing swing chairs and good outdoor lighting including party lights. This is an amazing place for al fresco summer dining. There is a nice area with grass and irrigation system which keeps the grass green in the summer heat.
Please note that pool is covered from October through April and outdoor lounge furniture is not available during this time. We also have a large gas grill available outside.
CHILDREN
We offer children / toddler dishes and utensils, pool toys, outdoor play house, 3 swings and game of cornhole. Upon request we can provide the following: baby bed (cot) and bedding (sheet, pillow and blankets), high chair for feeding, bathtub and toilet seat attachment.
GUEST ACCESS
This rental unit is a private house and will be exclusively yours. It is fenced with green bushes and a wall and far away from the road. The parking is right next to the house. The house is located about 50 meters away from a separate house where the owners live.
This is a quiet location outside of busy tourist areas. House Edi is located in a small town Vrecari on the east side of Istrian peninsula, and close to the beaches of Rabac which are only 7 km away (15 minutes by car). Rabac has the most well known pebble beaches in Istria. The historic town of Labin is located 5 km away, showing the charm of old cobbled streets and art galleries.

Our stay was perfect! The home was beautifully kept and organized. We had everything we could have needed and more. Supermarkets and a shopping center was minutes away whixhbwas perfect as we cooked breakfast in the lovely kitchen wveey morning. Even in the heat the house stayed cool without needing the AC and the pool was great for relaxation time before and after our daily adventures out. Will definitely stay here again as we visit Croatia often.

Wir haben 2 Wochen im "Haus Edi" verbracht und bereuen es nicht. Die Kinder sind dabei, schwimmen zu lernen und da kam der sehr neue und gepflegte Pool gerade recht.
Die Umgebung ist zwar sehr ruhig, aber eher von Gewerbegebieten geprägt - hübsch ist anders, aber uns hat es nicht gestört.
Mit dem Vermieter (bzw seiner Tochter, die bei Bedarf dolmetscht) gab es keinerlei Probleme. Eines Tages stand er vor der Tür und hat uns eine riesige Wassermelone und eine Tüte faustgrosser Tomaten aus dem eigenen Garten geschenkt.
Ein paar Dinge gingen zu Bruch, aber das wurde kulant repariert und ausgetauscht.
Die Sitzecke draußen (samt Gasgrill) wurde sehr häufig frequentiert. Leider gab's am letzten Abend noch einmal ein Gewitter, sonst hätten wir zum sechsten (?) Mal gegrillt.
Morgens wurden wir teils arg von Wespen geplagt, was sich aber auch nach dem Eingreifen des Vermieters besserte. Ein paar Wespen blieben uns aber immer erhalten :-)
Innerhalb von ca 1h ist man in Fažana und kann in den Brijuni Nationalpark übersetzen; die Fähre nach Cres ist auch um die Ecke.
Auf Pula (auch ca. 1h Fahrt) haben wir wir wegen Covid-19 verzichtet.
Alles in allem ein gelungener Urlaub, auch dank Familie Vale!

Die Vermieter waren sehr nett und haben alles versucht den Urlaub so angenehm wie möglich zu machen.
Leider war im Bad Schimmel vorhanden, welcher sehr stark gerochen hat. Wir haben unsere Kleine nicht ins Bad gelassen und die Große nur zum Duschen.
Ansonsten gab es im Sommer 2018 ein Mücken und Wespen Problem. Dafür können die Vermieter nichts, aber wir könnten uns Abends leider nur bedingt draußen aufhalten.
Wären die Mücken und die Wespen nicht gewesen hätte man sich wunderbar draußen aufhalten können.
