Le Mas d'Hermès

Emmanuelle und Jean-Francois haben uns einen wunderschönen Aufenthalt bereitet. Emmanuelle spricht perfekt Englisch und hat uns zu Beginn eine Einführung in Highlights der Region gegeben. Damit wir die WM mit anderen Gästen verfolgen konnten, hat Jean uns einen Abend den Fernseher draußen aufgebaut und eingestellt, sodass wir das Spiel sogar auf Deutsch schauen konnten. Die beiden waren äußerst herzliche, zuvorkommende und familiäre Gastgeber. Das Frühstück, welches Emmanuelle aus regionalen Zutaten zubereitet, war hervorragend. Das Bett war unfassbar gemütlich.

Emmanuelle was a great host and the dogs. The grounds of the property were gorgeous the pool was clean and in a good space and all of the outdoor options for sitting around / relaxing were lovely and the breakfast was fantastic all fresh produce with jams homemade and eggs from the chickens.

Alles! De eigenaren die zo lief waren en behulpzaam. De locatie is geweldig is met de mooie tuin, aankleding het wow gevoel. De kamer die erg groot en lekker koel is. De fijne badkamer. Gedacht aan een koelkastje in de gemeenschappelijke hal. De lieve honden, het zalige ontbijt. En dat alles ook nog eens in een mooie omgeving qua stadjes, restaurantjes en cultuur. Ik wil zeker terugkomen.

The B&B is run in a family kind of way. The hosts talk to their guests and hang out with them. Fruits are grown there and served for breakfast. The house is beautiful and located in a very romantic scenery with lots of vegetation, a little river, etc. They also have two very friendly dogs who come say hello every morning. The place is great if you like the outdoors and old romantic houses. It's not a hotel, it's not run like a hotel. If you stay in the main house you have all the usual facilities. If you stay in the bungalow you only have an outside shower and dry toilet - no toilet inside the bungalow. We don't know if the cleanliness will be different, we only know what we experienced - which was not acceptable. However, the hosts take care of you and even showed us the best places to visit, drew us a little route, etc.

We arrived exhausted after a long drive thinking we had booked a bungalow with all the facilities plus an outside shower, outside kitchen and outside toilet. It turned out the outside shower and dry toilet were the only bathroom - there was no bathroom inside the bungalow. This could have just been a simple misunderstanding because of the language. What really made us rethink our stay was the cleanliness of the room. There were cobwebs all over the place and dust/dirt on all surfaces. The shower and dry toilet were also full of cobwebs, spiders, mosquitos and various other bugs - obviously, because it was located outside. Me being seven months pregnant and getting up five times a night to use the toilet getting ravished by tiger mosquitos was far from ideal. We ended up telling the hostess about our concerns and after a little back and forth she ended up organizing a stay in a different room for the following two nights which we greatly appreciated. This new room was inside the main house and had a shower and normal toilet inside the room. This room was also cleaner.
