Hotel Villa D'Orta was amazing! First - this place has an amazing view from the outdoor eating space for Breakfast and Dinner and our rooms with balconies overlooking a garden out to the sea water were spectacular. The hotel is "up" the hill, however, this provided amazing views and cool sea breezes. We traveled into the Casamicciola port and right away the hotel was there to pick us up in the air-conditioned van. We were greeted by an amazing staff. Super friendly, gave us great recommendations and shared their experience of living in Ischia. The hotel location is up the hill so it does take 10/12 minutes to walk up to the hotel. There are stairs, but you are walking. There is frequent public buses to and from the hotel, plus the hotel provided 4 or 5 daily trips to and from the port if your schedule aligns. The place was incredibly clean and you could see the pride of the family who owned and worked on-site. The location of the hotel was a great part of the smaller port - which was really nice and quaint. The breakfast was very good, felt very fresh and local. We had dinner one night at the hotel and it was so well done. We only used the pool for a few hours, but it was nice with loads of sun loungers. You are in for a treat with Hotel Villa D'Orta! We would stay there again as a family of 5. (2 rooms)
Remember this is Italy - the rooms are well appointed, super clean and fresh but on the smaller size for bathrooms and overall room space, but then again we are visiting to explore the island, not lounge in a room. A full sized queen bed and a closet and desk, so plenty of space, just no couch or chair to sit in the room. The linens were comfy and clean (white). Something that would be helpful would be a luggage rack to place you luggage on instead of the deck top or floor.

Beautiful views from the small family run hotel. Michele met us at the ferry terminal and drove us up to the hotel, which was very kind of him. We enjoyed the Turkish bath and whirlpool before dinner.
