Villa Carmelas

Villa Carmelas exceeded all expectations! From the moment we arrived, everything was absolutely wonderful. The villa offers a beautiful atmosphere, outstanding hospitality, and a perfect combination of comfort and relaxation. The location is simply unbeatable! Just 50 metres from the beach and only a 5-minute walk from the cable car, it is perfectly situated for enjoying the sea, exploring the surroundings, and making the most of the area. Every detail contributed to a memorable experience, and the welcoming atmosphere made us feel comfortable from the very beginning. Villa Carmelas is truly a hidden gem, combining an excellent location with a vacation home vibe.

Great location within easy walking distance of the beach, and the hosts were very friendly and welcoming. They do have private parking available; there was a mention of €5 per day, but we weren't actually charged extra, so it might already be included in the total price.

A few things to keep in mind before booking. First, communication was a bit of a challenge—we had to run all messages we received through a translation app since the hosts didn't speak English. Second, the property is very close to the train tracks, and the frequent train noise isn't ideal when you're trying to relax on vacation. The room itself had two major comfort issues. The AC unit is positioned so that it blows air directly onto your head while in bed. Since turning it off wasn't an option in the heat, sleeping was difficult. Worse, the mattress was awful. Taormina (am not sure why but ok) has a reputation for being a premium, upscale destination, so staying on such an uncomfortable bed where we couldn't get proper rest felt unacceptable for the price we paid. A good mattress should be the bare minimum at these rates.
