Ashish Baug Cottage

The dinner and breakfast cooked by the caretaker Ms.Pooja was excellent, fresh and homemade. The room was extremely clean and quiet. The owner, Mr.Mhatre was friendly and warm. The beach close to the place is very quiet and clean. The house is in the middle of the village and felt safe and easy to get on the main road. It was excellent value for money. We had requested a room for 3 adults, and the bedroom was big with 2 double beds, and a separate entry room with the bathroom and toilet, which made it comfortable and gave us some privacy.

The room could have more ambient lighting and reading lamps. The pillows were a bit lumpy. The sheets and bed covers were very clean but could have been a lighter color, which would be more pleasant. The blankets were clean but blanket covers would have felt cleaner.

Calm and peaceful place in a small village at the sea. For people who are looking for some place where it's not totally crowded, it's perfect. Ashish, his family and the caretaker are some really great people. As a foreigner I had no car or other vehicle to get some food from the mainroad, so for them it was no problem to support me in this situation and prepared food twice daily. It was really tasty traditional indian food for a really fair price. Ashish was a perfect host and helped me everywhere where it was possible. I felt really comfortable there and can definitely recommend it.

Only point, which was difficult for me, was the problem with the restaurants. But they helped me very well, so there actually was no negative point.

Breakfast was mouth licking. A perfect getaway from city's hustle and bustle.

Rooms where decent and spacious. The location is really good. Beach is at walkable distance.

Well it might happened only with us that we didn't got cooked food from the butler itself when we reach by afternoon. So we went out for lunch but the cook was available at night and that cost us much more then the variety which we had for lunch outside. So could say the food is expensive if you have it there. Same goes for breakfast, unfortunately we didn't get breakfast except tea. But we carried out maggie packets and requested them to cook that for us, but for that too we paid good amount. So if you are looking just for a stay then its really good option, I'll recommend. And if you have more expectation rather then just a stay then it will be good if you look for some options.
