KH4231- Just One Block Off the Beach! 3 BRs, Close to Beach, Dog Friendly!

It was a nice quite neighborhood and a short walk to the beach which was great with smaller children

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. (Check in) Late arrival (7pm), picked up keys in drop box at main office. Awesome communication wtih CSR agents A+ (House) We were down here for a Family reunion so there were a total of 5 different pet friendly houses rented for me to compare to. It is obvious that is strictly a rental unit! Upon first entering residence we were hit with with an overpowering floral frangrance from a total of 4 plug in air fresheners. We promptly unplugged them all and opened all windows. It took 4 days with the windows open to disperse the fragrance. If you are at all sensitive to smells, stay somewhere else! The carpet looked new. Regardless we take our shoes off when we enter a house. Over the next day or two we were finding enough dark hair in the shower drain to stop it up. (Father and 2 sons all with short blonde hair). Not from us!. We were picking up (pet?) hair on our bare feet and it was maiking it into the shower over the entire week. Cleaning crew obviously needs to address this. This is the first time I have been to the OBX so maybe my expectations were a little high. But no toilet paper, papertowels, dish or dishwasher soap or scrub pads to do dishes. The 3 kitchen towels need to be thrown away. The bed in the master was on par with a fold away couch mattress. The vertical blinds in all the rooms were full of dust and there were no curtians. So sleeping in past 5 am was a not possible. We all took our beach towels and hung them over windows to get a little sleep. Like I said this was a Fam reunion so we were able to use this house to sleep and shower and that's it. The rest of the time was spent at other houses. Technically there was an Ocean view as the listing indicates. If you look between the neighbors house and the adjacent raised wood patio you can see about a1 foot sliver of water. Not a big deal, we werent here for the view. I have stayed at many rentals all over. Overall I was a little disappointed in the house. Thank goodness we had other houses to hang out at.
