About this cottage rental

The cottitch (i.e. 'small cottage') is right in the centre of historical Lavenham - the best of rural English 15th Century History and home of the Harry Potter house. The cottitch is a 1 minute walk from the very heart of the village square on quiet and peaceful Shilling Street with free parking. Your location lets you walk to great restaurants and pubs and explore Lavenham's architecture or walk out into the countryside (even to Long Melford - also a great historic town). Or you can decide to retreat into your own cosy medieval cottage to relax with a boo i from of the fire, look out at a great country view, or explore the cottitch's own small magical garden.

The "Cottitch" is set up as a perfect location for any of the following:

A ROMANTIC WEEKEND - The cottitch is utterly peaceful, you can make dinner at home, relax by the fire, curl up together, unwind and enjoy a break from busy life. Just to be together without any distraction. All good.

A BREAK FOR FRIENDS - Lavenham plays host to many weddings and events in one or other of its bigger venues, e.g. the Swan Hotel. We are a great little cottage for friends coming to your wedding, or for a hen party, or a reunion, or friends that just want to get away together. The cottitch has one double bed and two full size single beds all with excellent brand new mattresses - making your stay comfortable which is important when sharing with friends! During the day you can enjoy a spa treatment in Lavenham, go out for lunch, walk around Lavenham, go for a run through great countryside. Then a night eat out in one of the 5 excellent restaurants Lavenham has, enjoy some wine know you can just easily walk home in about 3 minutes to your peaceful little cottage. Perfect!

A FAMILY BREAK from city life as we have two specially beautiful built in bunk beds on the top floor landing - built by a local carpenter to blend into the feel of the old house with cubby holes for books and drinks and nick-nacks children like. We provide a portable cot and lots of toys/books/games as our children are 7 and 4. They love coming here and exploring both inside the cottitch and around Lavenham - We live in London normally so the Cottich is our haven away from the crazy busy life of dragging our children to after school activities and all that palaver.
