Had a lovely stay at the Tajaa Pha. Set in a stunningly peaceful part of Kathmandu overlooking the pond. We were looked after so well by Shailendra and his wife who prepares the best breakfast. The beds are so comfy and the rooms very clean and spacious. We kept coming back after having initially only booked one night when we arrived in Kathmandu. But loved it so much every time we came back to the city this was our go to hotel. I would really recommend a stay here next time you’re in Kathmandu 😊

Our hosts were extremely friendly and very helpful. We were welcomed on arrival with a cup of coffee and a chat. Our room was on the fourth floor with beautiful views looking over a pond and the town. The rooftop was where we had breakfast. The best yoghurt and muesli we ever had as well as eggs and some traditional food. The coffee was also great. We loved the area. It had great restaurants and shops nearby too. Everything was very clean and comfortable.

Tajaa Pha is a true gem, I'm so glad I found it. Shailendra and his wife are wonderful hosts and from the moment you walk in the door, you're being treated like family. The whole place is charming, beautifully designed and cozy. My room had a great view over the pond and the surrounding temples but if your room overlooks the inner courtyard, you can still enjoy the view at the wonderful rooftop terrace, where breakfast is normally served too (unless it's raining, I guess). Breakfast is a highlight too: incredibly tasty yoghurt and fresh fruit to start, followed by delicious eggs and, if you're open to it, wonderful homemade local specialities that are different every morning. I loved every minute of my stay and I wish I could give more than 10 points.
The only thing is that it takes quite a while for the water to warm up in the shower. There's also quite a bit of noise if your room faces the pond, though I found that it actually gets surprisingly quiet after 10PM, so I always slept well.
