Bryn Arfor is in a row of 5 individual character cottages on a quiet lane (on the Wales Coast Path), close to the centre of Llwyngwril village. The lane is a dead end which becomes a bridleway up into the mountains - ideal for walkers and views of Cardigan Bay. Originally two small cottages, the accommodation comprises a large kitchen, living room, and three bedrooms, double, twin and single. The cottage has a log-burner and storage heating, and supremely comfortable beds!!

Everything about our one week stay was perfect. Location, scenery, cottage, equipment were much better than we expected. We hope to come back to Wales soon and this house will be our first choice. Many thanks

The cottage is very comfortable, where we had a lovely time in a group of 4 adults. Spectacular walks reachable after approx 30-45 min driving. The kitchen is well equipped and big.

Easy access from Llwyngwril village to places of interest in North Wales. We packed in Harlech Castle, Rheidol Valley steam train to Devil’s Bridge, and Chirk Castle in out short stay In Gwynedd.
Delightful, welcome gesture from Nicola Morrow : a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc plus a block of Bara Brith left in the kitchen for us.
One minor detraction : Stairs in cottage is difficult for someone who uses a walking stick to assist mobility.

Loved our stay here. Cottage was spotless, really comfortable, homely and well equipped. Fantastic views from the garden. Loads of information available on local walks and places of interest- no need for a car here, train station 2 minutes away and fantastic walks just out the door. Highly recommend.

The cottage was exactly as described & was clean & cosy. Very well equipped kitchen, & wonderful big farmhouse style table to eat at. The location is perfect - right in the heart of the village & only 3 mins walk to the shop for supplies. We didn’t use the train but had we stayed longer would probably have done so - only a 5 minute walk to the station.
Loads to do in the area & there are plenty of maps & guides etc in the cottage.
Communication with the host was easy & I received prompt responses to my couple of small queries. We’d definitely go again if we were planning a trip in the area.

This was our second visit to this cottage and it didn't disappoint. We had another great week. Cottage is really well equipped and cosy, and the garden has fab views. Great location for lots of hiking.

Enjoyable week spent in a well equipped cozy cottage. Surrounded by fantastic scenery and lovely walks.

The cottage had everything we needed for a week away, in a beautiful location. Lovely walks from the doorstep, we enjoyed exploring this part of Wales. Kitchen was well equipped and even had a cupboard full of herbs/ spices/ oils etc. (maybe left by previous guests?) which meant we could cook just like at home.
We did find the upstairs rooms hot at night as the duvets were very cosy and the beds a bit softer than we're used to, but this is personal preference! It was very quiet at night and the downstairs was lovely and cool throughout our stay.
Nicola was very quick to respond to enquiries.

A lovely cottage in a quiet village, one pub (good food) and one shop. Short walk to a pebbly beach, lovely for an evening stroll. Other sandy beaches a short drive or train ride away. The cottage is nice, clean and spacious with comfortable beds and all the facilities we needed. Beautiful garden with sea views/ great for sunsets.

Lovely cottage
Lovely cottage, just as described. I was familiar with the village and area from previous visits and the cottage proved an excellent base from which to introduce my sister to the area. We were blessed with some excellent weather too!

Very happy visitors
Cottage was very comfortable and suited us perfectly for our visit. Walk out the door access to hiking trails, a beautiful terraced garden looking out to sea and plenty of wood for the fire. Kitchen was well stocked with equipment. Information from Nicola was clear and sent in good time and she is taking Covid safety measures seriously. Would definitely recommend!

Super base for a family holiday
We have loved returning to Bryn Arfor, a characterful, comfy, cosy cottage. The location is wonderful offering both mountains & sea with fantastic walking opportunities. Thank you, we hope to return in the future.

A great holiday at Bryn Arfor Cottage
This was one of the best equipped cottages we have ever stayed in. It even had kitchen scales! The beds were really comfortable and the shower easy to use and very efficient. One of us made use of the rain coat on the first day and also we borrowed a pair of binoculars for our visit to the RSPB site at Ynys-hir. There were plenty of information leaflets and maps and some lovely art books to peruse. We enjoyed sitting in the garden and had cheese and wine up there one evening. The sunset was wonderful. The cottage was central to the village and although we had 2 cars and needed to park one in the village car park it was only a few minutes' walk and no bother at all. We loved all the knitted creatures around the village. (The only thing missing was a visitors' book to complete about places we visited and to read about others experiences.)

The cottage is very comfortable and the equipment very good quality. The dining kitchen is excellent for family meals and the lounge comfortable and warm. The bedrooms have adequate storage space, heaters if needed and most comfortable beds. The main bedroom has a view of the sea.Good shower in the bathroom and a separate toilet which is down 2 steps. Some attractive art work also displayed on walls and shelves.Lots of books, DVD's, CD's ,a good radio, children's and family games and maps for walking. Also a cupboard full of useful equipment for picnics and walking such as flasks, primus stove kettle, picnic rug etc. Parking is available for 1 car directly in front of the cottage and it is very quiet with only very occasional traffic passing. There is one convenience store in the village but unfortunately the only pub was closed for refurbishment when we were there. The garden, although not directly attached to the cottage, is steep but delightful. Unfortunately the weather wasn't warm enough to take advantage of it.Llwyngwril is conveniently placed for day trips to Towyn, Barmouth( a little run down), Aberdovey, Portmeiron, Harlech and Snowdonia National Park. The railway line in the village is an added bonus when a break from the car and road is required. The only things I missed from home were oven gloves and a tea cosy!! The file on cafe's , places to visit, rubbish collection etc could do with being updated but we still managed.A most enjoyable stay, thankyou.

Lovely cottage
We had a great time at this cosy cottage. As a family of 5 there was plenty of space for us all and a lovely big table for evening meals. The cottage has everything that you need and is in a great location to get out and about. We explored the local hills accessed from the path behind the cottage, which helpfully bring you out close to the local pub!
We would have no hesitation in staying here again and loved the sea views to wake up to in the morning.

Well appointed, comfortable rooms and living space. Wood burner a real necessity in December but it’s lovely.

Very cosy and accommodating
We thought the cottage was extrememly well-equipped, with up to date kitchen utensils, etc. We thank you for all those logs, which we enjoyed on the fire each night and the overall feeling of welcome. The maps were brilliant, also books and tapes (though we didn't use those). It was all easy to manage, excellent instructions and it suited us perfectly.
We suggest a washing-up bowl in the sink! It was very handy to be able to just have 3 nights and not necessarily a full week. We loved the area and discovered some amazing places.

A wonderful traditional Welsh cottage & beautiful, tranquil garden.
We loved our stay here. A warm & welcoming cottage with a peaceful garden. A great base to explore the surrounding area which exceeded our expectations. Would definitely recommend this cottage. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay & more besides! We loved the log burner & the huge kitchen table! The property was perfectly proportioned with a great layout. A wonderful peaceful retreat. We also appreciated the tasteful decor & welcome gifts. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay & would highly recommend. Many thanks for the perfect base for our holiday!

fantastic place for a get away from it all break
Really can't understand why Bryn Arfur is only rated as 4 star, as far as we were concerned it's definately 5 star accomodation.
We were a party of 5 adults and we were all bowled over by the cottage, on our arrival we found it to be scrupulously clean, exceptionally well equipped in every aspect, from the modern kitchen to the bedrooms, everything is provided, with ample bed linen, towels, logs for the wood burner, hiking equippment and much more too
And then we come to the cottages garden , this meanders up the hillside adjacent to the cottage and is itself really well equipped with a pinic table and benchs, several deck chairs, a quiet seating area overlooking the bay, theres a summer house as well and even a small bbq, again scrupulously clean
As for location, it really couldn't be better placed, Barmouth, Tywyn and Aber dovey all easily reached by road or rail.
In short a fantastic little cottage with lots to offer, familys, couples and singles alike, we'll definitely be booking it again in the near future

Beautiful cottage. Great attention to detail. Had everything we needed.
Quiet, tranquil and cosy. Very clean and had everything we required for a self catering holiday. Location beautiful but not a lot to do for couples. Would be ideal for a family with Fairbourne Railway. If you like walking as we do, the walk to Barmouth was lovely.

Wonderful
We have just returned from a wonderful stay in this lovely cottage. It has spectacular views from the summer house in the garden where we watched the sun setting enjoying a glass of wine.
It is really well kitted out and has everything you could possibly need.
We were there four nights and visited Barmouth, Tywyn, Aberdovey, Fairbourne and took a drive to Aberystwyth on a very wet day.
There are plenty of walks and beaches nearby. We enjoyed a walk down to the beach through the village. The Blue lake near Fairbourne is another lovely walk with stunning views over Barmouth from the top. The Talyllyn railway near Tywyn was fun with a stop at the Dolgoch falls which were spectacular especially as it had rained the day before.
We would totally recommend this cottage for a holiday.

Lovely cosy cottage
Lovely cottage that is well equipped and cosy. We found there to be plenty of room and everything we could need for our stay including the logs for the wood burner. The village is well placed for exploring the surrounding area, we made use of the train which runs along the coast even out of season there is a regular service and great views over the wooden bridge to Barmouth. We only had a short break for 3 nights and could not do half of what is on offer. The
cottage is well stocked with maps and information for walkers , we had 2 teenage children with us so walking was not high on our agenda but you can do walks from the house and also walking down to the beach is easy too.
The owners were good at communicating with us before the stay and made everything easy. Would highly recommend the cottage for people of all ages

Wonderful Place to Rest in North Wales
We have spend a wonderful week in this excellent, spacious home from home and enjoyed it very much. The cottage has lots of space and is very good equipped, including a huge collection of DVDs and books. The garden is really nice as well with great views on sun downing, although it is not directly by the house but some meters to go up the street. Everything was clean and comfortable. We recommend this house very much!

Great cottage in a perfect location.
We have just returned from the cottage and we had a great stay.
The cottage is well kept and clean with everything you need for your stay. The summer house and garden overlooking the village and out to sea was a perfect spot for a glass of wine in the evening.
The village has everything you need from a good pub that serves food, a railway station and a well stocked shop. It also has some good walks from the cottage, either on the Welsh coastal path (which goes past the front door) or down along the beach.
Overall it is a highly recommended and we will stay there again when we visit that part of Wales.

Fantastic Cottage
This is a lovely, well equipped cottage. My wife enjoyed the bottle of Prosecco left as a welcome and the other little touches like a plentiful supply of firewood were nice too, particularly during a cold February week. The kids liked the fire so much they didn't want to leave the house. Basically, a perfect little place, can't recommend it enough!

Cosy cottage
We had been to the area many times before, mainly through day trips to Barmouth but also school trips when we were younger to fairbourne and arthog; staying so close really brought back the memories.
The cottage was the perfect base to explore the area with a stroll along fairbourne beach, crossing the bridge into Barmouth and also enjoyed a walk up to the blue lagoon.
The cottage was brilliant with the weather outside not so. We shut ourselves away in the cottage with the log burner on and relaxed on the big cosy sofas with no worries of home and an extensive dvd collection. There was everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay.
There was a travel guide in the kitchen which gave detailed options of various different activities to do in the surrounding area and other useful information.
The views from the garden were spectacular overlooking fairbourne and estuary mouth.
We could not recommend this cottage highly enough. We will definitely be returning in the future.

Weekend retreat
From the moment we arrived we felt relaxed. The cottage is set in a beautiful location with lovely views - especially from the garden. We arrived early evening on the Friday leaving us enough time to get the log burner on and to cook a meal in the fabulous fully equipped kitchen before relaxing in the living room. The only downside of our stay was when we had to leave! We can't wait for our next visit.

The perfect relaxing retreat
This beautiful, meticulously maintained cottage is the perfect destination for a relaxing break. We have visited this cottage on numerous occasions and are never disappointed. Closely situated near to the beautiful Aberdovey and also beaches at Tywyn, the location is perfect for both countryside and beach walks.
The cottage itself is tastefully decorated and is well looked after and well equipped. There is a local pub a stone's throw from the cottage which serves good food but the kitchen itself is also a pleasure to cook and eat in, with its large family-sized kitchen table and attractively decorated kitchen units. The living room is extremely cozy with log burner and comfy sofas. The bedrooms too are very comfortable and tastefully decorated. The double room in particular, has breath taking views of the sea and it is lovely to wake up to these whilst in bed. Bathroom facilities are very clean and functional; you really do have everything you could ever need here.
The garden, situated to the left of the cottage, has incredible views of the beach and is a great spot to have a glass of wine whilst looking out at the wonderful views. This really is a very peaceful spot.
I really cannot praise this property enough and will certainly be visiting again.
