We stayed in this beautiful cottage for a week and it was blissful. A bubbling river runs along the bottom of the garden and many an hour was spent sitting next to the river, sipping something cool and nodding off to the sound of the water. The host, Katherine and her two wonderful granddaughters were absolutely delightful and nothing was too much trouble. There are stunning castles galore to visit within a short distance and great restaurants too. We will definitely return.

Our stay at Katherine Cottage was absolutely perfect, the cottage is beautiful , inside and out, it is set in a woodland setting ,beside a little river. We have stayed many times in French properties, but none of them can compare with this fabulous place

The house had such character. I suggest that perhaps the comfy master bedroom easy chairs should be moved into the living room, or new sofas bought. The property is sweet, very private, and Montrésor is a lovely place to spend a holiday.

The gite was very comfortable, well equipped and cool in the exceptional hot weather. It's location is perfect. Calm and peaceful, in extensive grounds with a gentle river flowing nearby. Lots of shady areas to sit and relax but also close to a footpath to the lake at Chemille. Montresor is a picturesque village with an interesting chateau and is about 10 minutes walk away, down a track. Most of all Katherine was the perfect host. So helpful, friendly and welcoming. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The owner has thought about it to have small things present such as dishwasher tablets, kitchen roll, kitchen towel, toilet paper, etc.

A lovely characterful, rustic property in a beautiful location, close to a historic and pretty village. The village had good facilities and was well placed to explore the surrounding area, walking, cycling, visiting towns and villages and various chateaux. The host Katherine was very friendly, informative and kind and was helpful when we had some issues with the wifi. We had a relaxing ten days and the property location was delightful, by a river surrounded by beautiful countryside.

This is a super gite, set in the most peaceful surroundings. Well equipped, especially appreciated the outdoor seating and eating area. Easy walking distance of village with restaurant, bakery and Proxi supermarket. Katherine, the host, lives in the house next door but we never felt intruded upon. She was such a lovely host, giving us lots of suggestions on where to visit and eat.

Tranquil gîtes close to excellent facilities

A delightful stay with grown up children in one of our favourite parts of France. The gîtes is in a secluded location down a private track, with the discrete and helpful owner (and friendly dog!) next door in the only other property for about a kilometre. The predominant sound was birdsong and l’Indrois. We sampled two of the three restaurants in the village (both very good), patronised the well stocked (if a little pricey) supermarché (ask for steak haché!!) and, of course, the boulangerie. Much cycling, running (a voie verte runs behind the gîte) and visiting of chateaux filled our week.

This was a fantastic holiday home. It is ideal if you want a relaxing, peaceful break. We enjoyed cycling locally and the giant zipwire over the lake. The home was very well equipped with so many places to sit and relax inside and out.

An extraordinary home that exceeded our expectations. The location is idyllic as is the town of Montresor. The house itself is beautifully appointed (we all loved the incredibly comfortable beds!) and has everything you need if you choose to cook--there's a great grocery store and bakery in town. We hope to be back.

A lovely spot by a flowing river with loads of butterflies & damselflies. An interesting house and we were grateful for the cool and spacious interior during hot weather. Conveniently situated just outside a pretty village, a good small supermarket nearby. Lots of interesting places to see within 20 miles. And, of course, a very welcoming and helpful host.

The house was perfect for what we needed. It is very well restored and communication with Katherine was excellent. She and her family were very welcoming and our children loved playing with her grandchildren. I highly recommend a stay at this house if you are visiting the Loire Valley.

Beautiful haven of peace

We had a wonderful week at La Ronde. The house is perfect for a quiet getaway - all you can hear is the sound of the stream and the birds (unless you have kids like us!) Montresor is a very beautiful village which we enjoyed exploring and the Nuites Soldaires by the river were a wonderful surprise. There is some nice bike riding to be had, and plenty to do with kids. The lake-beach at Chemille is great on a hot day (and walkable from the house). Katherine was a wonderful host - and had her grandchildren staying with her who played with our daughter in the garden. Elton the dog was also great fun and really friendly with all our kids. Thank you - we'll definitely come back to La Ronde!

Fabuleux! Rien d'autre à ajouter. Tout est parfait : le cadre, l'accueil, la maison, le jardin, les équipements et le calme absolu, accompagné du chant des oiseaux et de la rivière. Éloigné de la route, dans un cadre de verdure, nous recommandons sans aucune réserve ce petit bijou! Et nous y retournerons très certainement, il y a tellement de choses à faire dans la région! A nouveau merci pour l'accueil, les précieux conseils et les bonnes adresses!

Comfortable and well provisioned. Stayed cool during hot days. Would love to come back. Easy cycle ride into Montresor, lovely town with great boulangerie and handy mini supermarket. Fantastic area. Lovely hostess whose English was far better than our French. Only concern was poor WiFi, essential when holidaying with teenagers.

Très bon séjour dans un cadre très charmant, entouré de nature et à la fois proche du village à pied. La maison est bien équipée, on y trouve tout ce qu’il faut pour séjourner confortablement en famille avec des jeunes enfants. Il y a des petits commerces à proximité et aussi des jolies balades à faire aux environs. La situation est idéale pour visiter les châteaux, le zoo, les plus grandes villes ne sont pas très loin aussi (super centre aquatique à Loches) cette location convient bien si vous aimez le charme des vielles pierres et la nature et que vous souhaitez à la fois du confort et la proximité des commerces et sites touristiques.

Un très bon choix l’été pour visiter la région, et profiter d’un cadre bucolique à l’écart des routes fréquentées. La maison est ancienne et fraîche, avec une première très grande chambre. Il faut savoir que pour aller dans la 3ème chambre il faut passer par la 2ème. La propriétaire est très attentionnée, et Nelson est adorable !

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans cette maison parfaitement rénovée et aménagée dans un endroit très calme et reposant. L'accueil est très agréable. Montresor et sa région offrent de nombreuses ressources touristiques.

Très belle location au calme absolu, dans un écrin de verdure, tout en étant proche des commerces et sites touristiques. On peut faire pas mal de choses à pied sans avoir à prendre la voiture (Montrésor, lac de Chemillé, canoë, vélo, forêt, vestiges romains ...). Ici le temps s'écoule plus lentement et qu'est-ce que ça fait du bien ! La location est impeccable, très bien équipée. Katherine Segalen est charmante et nous a chaleureusement accueillis. Nos filles ont aussi passé des heures à jouer avec Elton, toutou espiègle et attachant. Je recommande vivement cette location qui permet de déconnecter tout en passant de belles journées de visites.

Tout est conforme à la description. Propriétaires très agréables et présents sur place. Ils ont eu la gentillesse de nous prêter du matériel de puériculture. Le matériel de jardin est très fonctionnel et très agréable. C'est un lieu reposant entouré par la nature. Le village aux alentours est très charmant et il y a un proxy à deux pas très pratique. La maison conserve la fraîcheur, ce qui est très agréable en été. Nous y reviendrions avec plaisir !

Très bon gite au calme, bien situé, ayant toutes les commodités. Apero et barbecue tous les soirs. Montresor mérite vraiment qu'on s'y balade. La semaine fut très riche en visites de châteaux, jardins, caves et Zoo de Beauval qui est top. N'oublions pas cet agréable moment passé un soir sur notre terrasse en compagnie de Mme Segalen qui est très sympathique. Elton le toutou aussi. Nous étions 6 adultes et on recommande le gîte. A bientôt peut-être.
