About this apartment rental
The apartment is in an old building and fully renovated by us. We knocked down many walls to create an open and airy feeling throughout the apartment. The terrace was a key feature for us when we bought the place and we have spent many lovely mornings, lunches and evenings there admiring the views and letting the Lisbon sun in. The roof window on the second floor ads to airiness. We love cooking together, and since there are so many great food products available in Portugal, we created a kitchen that is made for team cookings. Lots of space and a kitchen island makes it a great place to be together. The kitchen is integrated in the living room making that area the natural hub for friends and family. Alfama, the old town with its myriad of alleys and lanes, bars and restaurants are just outside the door. Explore the Castle, the Pantheon and the Monastery by foot and take the chance to buy some antiques at the Feira de Ladra (Lisbon's biggest and best flea market). The metro is only 200 meters away from the apartment and gives you easy access to all Lisbon's attractions and there are buses on the street itself getting you out to Expo is 15 minutes.

Great location for nearby restaurants and shops. The Saturday (&Tuesday) market was a block away. You have to be good with hills and stairs to stay anywhere in this area, but it's worth it!

We really enjoyed our stay, the property is lovely and the location was great. Very comfortable beds and nice hot showers. There are quite a few stairs to get up to the unit but we managed.

Lovely apartment well situated in Alfama. Walking distance to restaurants and shops. Well-appointed and comfortable. Would not be suitable for people with mobility issues as several flights of steep stairs to apartment, but was fine for us. Good communication from host.

The Good: The place is in a great location and check in was easy. The place has all the modern conveniences.
The Bad: The place smells moldy and the towels after one shower smell of mold. The shower curtain was gross and moldy. The second and third room mattresses need to be replaced. The unit was a bit cold and no heating. There were dead bees in the unit and all over in the hallways. I know it is hard with old buildings.
We still enjoyed seeing Lisbon.
