Stayed at the hotel for two nights. It’s a charming and unique building, as it used to be a military sanatorium and today it continues to work as a rehabilitation centre. I found the decor charming and unique, and appreciated that much of its original appearance has been kept. There are a lot of wonderful spaces to sit around, admire nature, disconnect from the world. Guestrooms are very clean, could perhaps have a bit more bathroom amenities/toiletries, but our room was spacious. Staff are very friendly and definitely the heart of the hotel. My only complaint was the breakfast. It was pretty bad and presentation was lacking. I didn’t dare to try the “scrambled eggs” and most options were just too simple/bad. I do appreciate that they had bilberries on the last day, as well as some local pastry, but it could be so much better. Personally, I would’ve like to see some more fruits, riisipiirakka, better presented eggs. The main thing was presentation. I was hesitant to have dinner there, but the a la carte chicken was quite good, accompanied by a chanterelle risotto and some great vegetables. The little restaurant by the water was charming and provided table service, which is rare for a small restaurant/coffee shop in Finland. I didn’t try the “spa”, but husband said it was average and could be better. He noted that the pool is maintained with chlorine and the smell was quite strong. I hope they continue to improve as it has a lot of potential. I would stay again
