We enjoyed the spacious two bedroom apartment in John‘s house. It is on the first floor and when you open the window shades of the bedrooms you have a beautiful view of the Tuscan landscape. John is a great host, very welcoming and super friendly. San Ruffino is a tiny village up the hill. The nearest village with cafes, restaurants and shops would be Lari, a six minute drive from La Torretta. We highly recommend staying with John. Make sure to spend some time on the terrace for an afternoon drink or when the wind picks up and makes the area shaded by a huge pine tree the most beautiful place on earth.

The location (Tuscany!), stunning view from some windows, the bathroom, the owner. You feel a little bit like a guest, but won't be disturbed at all. The decor of the apartment is interesting and tasteful, you are surrounded by pictures and theatre-like decorations.
The bed in the bedroom is extremely squeaky. The beds in the other room are narrow, easy moveable and not very comfortable for adults. No microwave in the kitchen, no TV. The air conditioniner in the corridor is quite loud and fails to cool all the rooms in the hot summer (we had a very hot one!).

This property is beautiful. Beautifully furnished with taste and balance and a bit of artistic drama, which reflects the hosts background in art. John is a welcoming host and is a pleasure to speak to.
