This property was excellent. I will forever have fond memories of staying here. Quiet town an hour from Florence great to get away from it all but still close to the touristy areas. Walking around the Castle and the grounds was a joy and the giant rooms were very very comfortable. The manager was a pleasure to deal with and had great restaurant recommendations. There was 6 of us and we each got our own rooms and were able to hangout together in the spacious rooms or the billiards room

We arrived from Corsica by ferry and were thrilled to find this amazing hotel through Expedia. The warm welcome we received, along with our dog, made us feel right at home. Dinner at the restaurant was absolutely fantastic—delicious and exquisite! It was a delightful evening, followed by a perfect night in a spacious and beautiful room. We can't wait to return! Highly recommended! Thank you!

Beautiful location, nice old renovated castle with very large rooms. Excellent restaurant with a stunning view at the outdoor terrace. Very friendly and helpful staff. I usually like to explore multiple hotels/locations, but this hotel and its crew made me come back five times this year.

Lovely place but needed a car from day one. This should have been hilighted better! We were there for 5 days with no change of bedding or towels. 1 hour to walk to shops. No staff on premises to talk to. Nothing for kids to do! Ideal for adults only retreat.

Looks great on photos, but when you are there; this is a non maintained palazzo. Of course depending what you have paid. We paid over 200 euro for a suite, no breakfast. Checkout at 10?? Pay for a towel at the pool? Interior design without any taste. Modern ugly furniture in an palazzo? I normally don't write, but in this case it's a bit sad. Garbage overload at the entrance, worst breakfast for 20 euro for 2. Pool great, but sunbeds dirty and broken. Could be a potential, because it's on a great and beautiful place. But this place need a full makeover, it has the potential.

We had a great stay. Make sure you read previous reviews before to know what to expect. For example, you either get a shower OR a bath and that you need to park the car down the road and carry luggage or wait for someone to help you...

Fantastic stay, one of the best hotels Ive stayed in. Perfect location for Pisa and Florence, nice and quiet with plenty of room in what can be described as a historic setting. I will hopefully be coming back once a year to this hotel.

This is a great place to stay outside of the city. The country side is beautiful with sunflower fields and olive trees. There is no public transportation so plan on getting there by car. In line with other European hotels, there is no air conditioning. The room that did have air wasnt that cool. This comment is based on a mid-June stay.

San Ruffino resort definitely has the wow factor. The hotel itself is stunning and the two bed apartment that we stayed in was spacious and comfortable with both a shower room and a bathroom with Jacuzzi. The pool is lovely and was warm in June: the children spent most afternoons swimming. The staff were very friendly and helpful.The apartments arent very well kitted out for self-catering, even though the kitchen area is fairly generous.

Only could have been improved if the Wifi was a little better (and maybe in the rooms), although if you want a break from technology and the outside world, it is excellent! The accommodation was fantastic (up a steep flight of stairs but this wasn't a problem for the family) and staff were very friendly and helpful. Our apartment had air conditioning throughout and was lovely, roomy and very clean. The pool was brilliant - very clean and lots of chairs with umbrellas. Surroundings were beautiful and there was lots to do a short drive away. Wifi is available for free and the hotel site has some good links to things to do & places to eat. Restaurant recommendations from staff are also good. A trip to Pisa is recommended (only 30mins away by car) and you can also access Florence and other tourist sites (the staff will help with train times and parking if asked). We loved our stay and would definitely recommend the resort - we hope to return with other family in the future.
