Grand Hotel Lafayette

Great staff, we arrived late after a long flight and they were very welcoming. Location was great and so many bars and great places to eat close by. Hotel was quiet, clean and very comfortable

Location

Extremely small room. Bathroom was in the same space with bedroom, there was only a see through curtain separating the bed and shower, so there was no privacy. The hotel did not have an ironing board, even when asked from the reception, which is quite peculiar considering it is a 4 star hotel.

The staff were super friendly and attentive, making us feel very welcome on our first day in Paris. The location was great too, within walking distance of attractions like the Palais Garnier and Galeries Lafayette, with plenty of cute cafes and restaurants just down the street. It was very convenient to shop, return to the hotel to drop off our bags, then head back out to explore. Public transport in the area was also a big plus. We also loved that the hotel was in a less touristy part of Paris; it gave us a more authentic feel for the city.

The room size was expected for Paris, but the charging ports were poorly placed. In our twin room, one power outlet was so far from the bed that you had to stand in a specific spot to use your phone while it charged. We also had a leaking sink and the shower screen door came off during our stay. Thankfully, the leak was minor and the shower door was repaired the next day.
