Great location but more backpacker than hotel.

The location was excellent

Room was very small and more like a backpackers accommodation than a full hotel. Bed was fully up against the wall in one corner and a good job we didn’t take a cat! Bathroom wasn’t particularly clean.

Clearly, buildings several hundred years old are likely to have problems. The restrictions of the building meant that getting our heavy suitcase up a winding staircase (no lift, of course) was a considerable struggle.

nice place, nice little town

room a bit tight for 3 people but we stayed just one night without much luggage, so it’s completely fine. Bathroom had a pretty decent size. everything was cleaned.

just a couple of power sockets in the room, it was missing in the bathroom.

Dinan is delightful, the Hotel du Theatre is ideal placed to explore and is comfortable no frills!

Location was outstanding as was the comfort of the bed. Room was very clean. Staff very friendly. Jolly buzz in bar in evening and for breakfast, which was perfect and reasonably priced.

Disappointed that there was no food offering in bar in the evening. Cheeseboard shown on menu but nothing available. Only expensive restaurants nearby in evening. Slight problem with W/C, easily rectified....

Lovely hotel in a wonderful location.

Wonderful old building right in the old town. A treat to stay in! The staff were very friendly and helpful and organised safe storage for our bikes, which was much appreciated!!

Nothing, it was great! Just be aware there is no air con but that’s because it’s a glorious old building! We just opened the windows, the town is very quiet at night.

Never met the Owners at all until the morning I was actually leaving. She was arranging their Bar to open for breakfast, I assume. I told her a Tea/Coffee facility would have been welcomed in the room. She said their Bar could be used for that. Not possible, as it was closed for the duration of my stay. Rather disappointing!

After one long sleepless night we moved to another hotel across the plaza.

Key did not work for building entry from the street (broken tumbler). 10-15 minutes to finesse the lock on said door to open the first time. The second in the evening needed the door to be forcibly pushed open to enter the building after another 15 minutes of working to finesse the broken lock. Heavy body odor in room upon arrival. Finally the toilet was running upon arrival and would not stop through the night. It was not able to be flushed or used for the duration of our stay. We booked for two nights and ended up leaving first thing after the first sleepless and uncomfortable night. Look elsewhere for accommodation- Dinan is spectacular, and even though the location here is great we would implore any visitors to look elsewhere.

Lacks Air conditioning, which is nota an issue most of the year but in summer it means leaving the window open. Some noise gets in, seagulls mainly. Can be disturbing for some. Also, no elevator, which may or may not be an issue depending on your needs
