Andalusian people. Maria House

Just back from an amazing 14 night stay in Nerja at Casa Maria with my husband and two children. It is our 3rd time visiting this wonderful town and this time we decided to rent a house for the duration. What a great idea it was too having our own space and being able to come and go as we pleased. In an ideal location too ... with a 10 minute walk down to the beach ( a little steep walking back up the hill but just about bearable) and a 15 minute walk to the Balcon where there are numerous bars and restaurants to suite everyone's tastes. A couple of teething problems with the wifi upon arrival and as you can imagine having a teenager with us meant we had to get this sorted straight away. Gema however was amazing and before long we were able to log on with no problem at all ... making for very happy children. The house was well equipped and pretty much everything you need for your stay is there, and if something wasn't working then this was replaced that day. Shared pool with other residents, which meant the children did make a couple of new friends and our own private terrace at the rear of the house where we sat and ate breakfast every morning. Just a couple of negatives ... the lack of air conditioning, as our time in Nerja went on it did get hotter and having air conditioning when returning from the beach would have been very welcome. No safety deposit box ... this meant that we had to hide valuables ... not ideal really when in a foreign country. The barbecue on the rear terrace has seen better days, we were hoping to barbecue on a couple of nights and sample some of the beautiful prawns and seafood that was available in the local supermarket but decided against it and ate out instead. Not really an issue but if anyone like to barbecue a lot then this could become a problem. All in all a fantastic holiday and i am sure we shall be returning to the beautiful Nerja again in the future!!!

The property was easy to find. Miguel met us the next morning after our evening arrival. The property is lovely, big enough for 4 of us, and very clean. Everything you could want, and even found beer, coke and eggs chilling for us in the fridge! Towels all round, loo roll, kitchen roll, tea towels.. All there so didn't gave to struggle to find essentials straight away. The house has a small pool immediately outside the door and a larger one across the road, but to be honest, we preferred the small one for its location and quietness. The kids could come and go and be seen from the property. A short walk to the beach and only a ten minute walk to the centre of town. A quiet road too. There are 2 good supermarkets up the road and a good convenience store right next door! We would definitely stay here again. We have been to Nerja twice before but this was a better house and location.
