Atmospheric

We loved sitting cozily inside watching the ever changing weather. We arrived during a period of significant snowfall in parts of Scotland and needed to increase our stay as we were unable to continue our forward journey. The manager was very proactive regarding our driving safety and comfort. The apartment was well equipped and very comfortable. Modern and clean.

Nice place to stay with family

The house was excellent. We spent New Year Eve and few days more. Everything that you need you for cooking or fun time you can find there. It was pretty warm even the weather was horrible outside.

Well, it was obviously windy but much more than we expected. No chances to walk around normally and fully enjoy the nature. So you are just staying at home all the time.

An exceptional stay and a beautiful place

Location is beautiful, as apartments are really well setup and facilities are excellent. Staff are fantastic and Claire even helped get us Christmas tree!! 🌲 100% recommended!

Not much, maybe the outside night road lights could be fixed when walking around at night.

Fab property at a good price considering its amazing location.

The facilities and quality of fixtures and fittings made it into a lush category!. Location was spot on for what we needed it for. Fantastic to have the extra 'library' area with comfy chairs to relax in the afternoon.

We had to put bins and recycling out before departure however it wssnt very clear whereabouts we were to put them. Ended up having to hike them up to opposite lodges in windy conditions and could barely undo/redo the bolt for the bin compound. Lack of a full length mirror and no headboard either. The hobs we couldnt get to heat up and so we gave up trying. 10am departure felt too early The photos on booking.com make it tricky to figure out communal areas from private rooms

Amazing 10/10

The location of the place is just amazing! I loved the super comfortable bed, and the apartment had everything we needed — fully equipped, warm, cozy, and really welcoming. A really nice place to return!

If I had to mention something to improve, the shower screen doesn’t close completely, so a little water comes out when using the overhead shower. Maybe installing a sliding door could make the experience even better!

Really nice short stay met

Easy and straightforward pick up of keys and great correspondence from owners via e mail . Toft was clean and comfortable and met my expectations.

Struggled with the coffee and oven appliances. We Had to Google instructions. No baking trays provided for the oven Bathroom sink was tiny and only suitable for hand washing. All minor points, we Really enjoyed our overnight stay ,

A wonderful place to stay at John O'Groats

We stayed for two nights in a beautiful, fully equipped apartment in John O’Groats. It was the perfect place to relax in comfort after a long and busy tour around the east of Scotland. We only wish we could have stayed longer, as the apartment and surroundings offered such a peaceful and spacious environment. We highly recommend this accommodation and will definitely return on our next visit to Scotland.

Very fresh style, spacious, comfortable lovely stylish decor, everything we needed. Lovely feature having seats by window to enjoy the view.

Because I am disabled I use either 2 sticks, a rollator walking frame or elec mobility scooter. It was a huge struggle for me getting into our apartment as there were 6 doors to go through to access it. Difficult even when someone opens the door but a huge effort when I was alone. The apartment however was perfect otherwise.

Great location at John O'Groats! Right on the North Sea!

Nice unit with kitchen, living room, bedroom and bath. Included laundry which was great! Easy parking. Quick walk to the pub, restaurant and walking along the coast!

Beautiful apartment and right by the sea. The facilities in the apartment are excellent, clean and modern. The views are incredible!

The listing's description does not make it clear that these are self catering and self check in apartments. Also, the communication on the booking.com dashboard can be improved. My messages were not acknowledged and I did not receive the email/phone call that was promised with my check in details, so I had no idea which apartment I was assigned to and how to check in.

One bedroom had no blind or curtain at all on the window, unfortunately this meant we didn’t use the bedroom as the outside lighting was too bright

Ok, but could have, should have been so much better

We’ll equipped kitchen and sufficient space for our party of 4

The heaters were all on full when we arrived, in summer. It took almost 12 hrs to cool the place down, made for a very uncomfortable first night. Beds were on the uncomfortable side of hard. It was surprising given the cost of the accommodation that there was an expectation of guests to strip the beds and take the rubbish out on departure. Lock on bathroom door didn’t work, maybe not an issue for couples but it is for a group

It was a beautiful location and clean. The lodge was amazing but over priced. The apartment was clean but very plain and hot.

Not a good value for the money: especially considering that checkout was really early (10 am); they say a late checkout can be requested in the information given, but not that it has to be done early; you are required to strip sheets and take out trash; and we thought we were getting two king beds but it was actually 1 king and 1 full.

Beautiful spot with some challenges!

The property is lovely and the location right on the edge of the sea magnificent!

Other than one small Cafe there are no restaurants nor grocery stores for many miles. Had we known this we would have gone shopping prior to our arrival. Additionally, directions are needed for the oven and dishwasher in particular but likely would be useful for all appliances!

Amazing apartment, unbelievably spacious, well equipped and just perfect

An amazing Self Catering Studio apartment with so much space. Well equipped kitchen with everything you would need to cook a meal or breakfast etc.. Beautiful location right by the famous signpost.... The studios are facing the sea so you have Great views and even can see the Orkney Isles in the distance... Excellent parking right by the apartments Just breathtaking!!!

It was a little difficult to find the code to get the key.. The problem was that on the itinerary which you get sent prior to arrival it had the colour Sand, but if you do get that colour it will be "Brown", not sand, It is pretty straightforward apart from that, but very secure.....

Great accommodation and location.

The location and the quality of the accommodation were superb and were the reasons for picking this property. There weren't any on-site services but none were expected. The pre-arrival telephone call was as-promised, helpful and friendly. Altogether very well run.

The room was very spacious with a great view of the harbour.

Directions to the accommodation were very confusing - we had to ask a shop owner where it was. Directions to the room were very confusing - it took us a while to find it. The room is on the ground floor with an amazing view - which everyone else enjoys whilst standing just outside the window - so the room was not private.

An unforgettable stay, truly unique, full of charm, and set in the most breathtaking location!

I stayed in 14 different locations over my 2 week NC500 trip around the North of Scotland and this stay was by far my favourite. The location was just unbelievable, it really felt like you were at the end of the world with those views! The property was both quirky, functional and an absolute joy to stay at. There were so many little touches that made for a memorable experience, I would travel the length of the UK to stay at the place again.

Nice apartment concept but a little awkward in its implementation.

Very clean, great location at John O’Groats. Right next to the sign. Nice view

Design of the main building was awkward requiring walking through all ground floor common rooms and many doors to get to our apartment. The doors on the apartment to bedrooms and lounge rooms were heavily weighted to close. Little heating control. The showers had too small a glass screen so water sprayed into the floor. Living room furniture was a bit too large making it difficult to move between open plan kitchen dinning table and couches. Four identical looking keys provided and only two needed, as such took a while each time to find the right key through trial and error to the main door then apartment door.

Perfect place to enjoy John O Groats

Loved our stay here. Well equipped apartment with space to relax and to eat at a table. The view out to sea was stunning. The location was perfect we could enjoy the Whisky and real ale in John O Groats and walk back to the apartment. Excellent cafe and other food outlets mean you don't have to cook if you don't want to.
