About this house rental
La Pierre Plantee is a bungalow style property nestled in woodland in the sleepy hamlet of Bazalgue. The house offers a tranquil private location with easy access to the local villages of Souillac and Martel only 7km distance. The house has accommodation for 8 persons with 4 bedrooms 2 bathrooms, and a large veranda, terrace, and natural garden for relaxing. You can enjoy the special ambiance or take a peaceful stroll into the woods along one of the many walking paths.
Interior
The house has a large new kitchen equipped with all kitchen facilities, dishwasher, coffee machines and percolators, and opens through double doors directly onto the veranda. The open plan lounge/dining room has french TV, DVD/CD player, a selection of DVDs, free wi-fi, a large table and seating for 8, games & board games, and opens directly onto the garden. There are 2 double and 2 twin bedrooms, all with views of the woods, fitted wardrobes, and portable fans, and all have mosquito blinds for the windows. There are 2 shower rooms and an extra toilet. All towels and bedding are provided.
Exterior
A large natural garden is surrounded by trees giving much privacy, and is perfect for observing birds and local wildlife. A covered veranda leads onto a large elevated terrace, which has child safety fencing and steps into the garden with a child safety gate (if requested), and table and seating for 8 and has shading and night lighting and a gaz plancha. In the garden there is an above ground swimming pool size 6m x 4m with terrace and a picnic table to seat 8 persons. There are also sun lounges, hammocks, giant jenga, boules, swing ball, ping pong, and badminton can also be erected. The utility room houses the fridge freezer and washing machine. Out the front of the house is ample private parking for 4 cars and turning area, and exterior lighting on sensors.
Local area
We are on the border of 3 departments so there are numerous attractions to visit ranging from grottoes, chateaus, markets, and gardens, there are also many activities to take part in like canoeing, horse riding or walking and cycling of which there are some routes direct from the house. There is a local airport at Brive that has links direct to Stansted and Paris. We are only 10 mins from the A20 autoroute, giving the main link north or south.
Neighborhood
We are based in a rural farming community, there are various outlets to buy our local produce of walnut oils and fresh duck selections. We have a new local restaurant in Baladou only 2.5km called Madam were you can enjoy an evening meal made with local products or relax with a cool drink. The Dordogne river is only 15 mins away and has many beaches and so does Lac du Causse near Brive.
Additional.
No dogs or cats are allowed as the property does not have any fences, and we are on a walking route. Entry is via a key safe from 16.00. We aim to make our vacation house as safe and enjoyable as possible for our clients and their family and friends.

We loved our stay at La Pierre Plantee. It was just what we’d hoped for - Quiet, relaxing and well equipped. Geraldine was an excellent host. Always helpful and knowledgeable. Despite the unusually hot weather, the garden offers plenty of shade and the pool is perfect for a cool off. The house is well located, and only a short drive from a variety of sights and activities. We’d recommend a swim and or kayak in the Dordogne river and a trip to Sarlat. To be honest, most of the time we were just happy to relax in the garden and watch the red squirrels - a real treat.

Tout d'abord merci à nos hôtes pour leur accueil et leur gentillesse ! Leur propriété est idéale pour passer des vacances au calme en famille où tout le monde a la place pour des activités extérieures avec un grand parc très bien équipé !! Table de ping pong piscine hamacs......La maison a tout ce qu'il faut pour passer un très bon séjour.
Secteur idéalement situé pour de nombreuses visites de superbes villages !!
Nous recommandons vivement ce lieu de villégiature .

Tof huis voor acht pers. met alle faciliteiten in een mooie groene omgeving en inplanting. De ontvangst door de gastvrouw en -heer was heel vriendelijk en waren klaar om "probleempjes" onmiddellijk op te lossen. Het was een leuk verblijf en een goede vakantie. Een aanrader.
