The house is located in the village of Selvena fraction of Castell'Azzara, in the province of Grosseto.

Having played a role of importance in the Middle Ages to Selvena fortress rises Aldobrandesca ninth century also called Rocca Silvana of which today there are only restored and the high tower and the ruins of the two circles and walls of this old mansion.
Also in the small village stands the Church of St. Nicholas of Tolentino, building of the eighteenth century.
The location is next to the slopes of Monte Amiata (height 1. 738m); the country was known since the time of the Etruscans and Romans.
The neighboring countries are Piancastagnaio, Castel del Piano, Arcidosso, Sorano, Pitigliano and Sovana to name a few, all characterized by the high quality of food and wine being at the turn of the province of Siena and Grosseto, areas of past production of wine as the Morellino di Scansano, the wines of Montalcino and Nobile di Montepulciano.
