Sunset House Skala Maries

Excelent position and view. Very spaciois for a family of 4. AC in every room. Lovely balcony, perfect for sunset meals.

Not much to say here.

The owner is a very nice and kind woman, she helped us with everything she could dance. The apartment is perfect for 4 people, but it can also accommodate 6 people. The biggest advantage is the fact that it is located directly on the beach and the scenery from the balcony is extraordinary.

Too much mosquitos, but all other was perfect!

On the plus side, the location is right there on the beach. We also had a mini kitchen equipped with almost everything we needed. A pretty generous fridge in size. We had a laundry machine that we could use which was nice becase we got to wash our beach towels and dry them until the next day. He had a balcony on which we could enjoy a glass of wine at sunset/night. We could also reach the "town" area by foot very quickly, aprox 5 min walk. You get a set of towels per person. At the middle period of our stay, the lady came and changed our sheets and towels. We also got from her at the beginning of our stay a bottle of homemade olive oil and some salty snacks. There is AC in every room.

What I didn't like was the bathroom and lack of privacy or some sort of sound proofing between the rooms. The bathroom is very small. You have a bath tub, a sink and a toilet all crowded together. But that is not what I am complaining about because I can understand that was the available room for it. What i was bothered most about, and my friends as well, was the lack of air venting in the bathroom. There was no window nor an air vent, you can only imagine the humidity, smell and sort of like mold accumulated in there. The only option was to leave at all times the bathroom door open. Secondly, once you got in to the bath tub, if you stood on your feet you could see below the ceiling some sort of deposit area that looked really creepy. Now to the privacy part. We were two couples travelling. When we would go to sleep, you could hear the people in the other room even whispering. The apartment is also situated above a beach bar, which between the hours of 9 AM and 7 PM puts on music and needless to say, with everything closed in the apartment you could still hear the music loud. The other thing that bugged me, but I may be in the wrong here so PLEASE CHECK THIS WHEN BOOKING. You are asked to pay a deposit of 200 euros as a guarantee which is then returned to you at the end of the trip. As far as I know, when i booked the accomodation there was no mention of this, however in the confirmation it is mentioned but not as a confirmation message, rather you have to go and check the policies of the property again. I have booked a lot through booking before and this was the first property that asked me for a deposit. At the end we got our deposit back, so it was all ok.
