A Super one night stay

It was very quirky. Had everything we needed for cooking etc…. Hot shower , fridge, utensils. Loved our tour around the night skies . A little introduction and then lucky to see through Oliviers self made telescope in the observatory. Thank you to the lovely knowledgable Quintin (excuse if misspelled). Breakfast delivered in morning-on outside table.

The stairs from bedroom to bathroom are very steep and narrow ( just be aware ).

Exceptional

The location, the cute room, the awesome presentation of the observatory of the photos universe. I highly recommend you stay here and get the chance to see the stars and the sun and learn as much as we did. Thank you so much to Olivier and Lawrence

Recommend for stargazing

It's a very unique place to stay and worth it to get to use observatory in the evening. First the host showed us amazing pictures of stars and planets and gave some information about the universe. He doesn't speak English but we had someone who could translate. It was great. Then he took us to the telescope and we got to see some stars and a nebula. We only stayed one night so we're lucky no clouds were in the way.

I don't want to make any complaints, we could see from the pictures that it wouldn't be a fancy accommodation. We went for the observatory and to see stars which was worth it. Just want to give an honest review. The whole place could use a bit of touch up. The bed is upstairs up a very small and narrow staircase which could be troublesome for some people, just good to be aware of this.

Highly recommended, an amazing observatory and accommodation with a perfect host.

Our accommodation was great, the facilities available were very useful and it had clearly been cleaned well before our arrival. Olivier was extremely nice and accommodating, and was patient with his presentation while it was being translated from french to english by my partner. Despite it being cloudy at the start of our astronomic tour, when the clouds cleared up at the end of the evening, Olivier was more than happy to open the shutters and let us use the telescope. The observatory is amazing and well worth a visit, highly recommended.

Magical evening stargazing & a friendly host, keen to share his knowledge & passion about astronomy

We loved our short visit to the Observatoire Astronomique. Whilst the old observatory is cozy, it is advertised as such and we had no problems with any of the facilities. It was quirky and original and as such much more interesting than staying in a more traditional type of accommodation. Our host Olivier was fantastic, very helpful, genuine and enthusiastic. The breakfast was lovely and Olivier made a few adjustments for the following morning to suit our request. A very attentive host and very much appreciated. The reason we booked to stay here was the opportunity of an evening stargazing and it didn’t disappoint. About 3 ½ magical hours of observing the stars and being amazed by not only the universe before our eyes but the excellent observatory that Olivier has built. For an amateur, it is an impressive feat. As our French is not fluent, we were very lucky that a fellow astronomy enthusiast was visiting, a charming optician from near Arromanches, Normandy who could speak English and was a wonderful interpreter. Thank you both for a wonderful and memorable time.

Zeer bizondere overnachting in het observatorium van Bauduen

Prima exotische locatie met goed ontbijt en leuk prive zitje buiten van 21:30 tot ruim 24:00 door de telescopen gekeken en veel kennis over het heelal gekregen, deels in engels.

Notre Hôte : une personne exceptionnelle qui a su nous transporter à travers sa passion… Un accueil formidable et un petit dej au top! Merciiiii encore pour ce moment magique! Trop hâte de revenir!!!

Un séjour parfait sous les arbres et... les étoiles !

séjour très agréable dans un environnement arboré, proche du lac. La soirée "astronomie" apporte un réel plus au séjour. L'appartement proposé met à disposition tout ce qui est nécessaire pour cuisiner et bien dormir. L'hôte est très serviable et à l'écoute des besoins.

Nous sommes resté 3 nuits, rien ne nous a déplu lors ce séjour.
