Dove Cot is a lovely 200 year old brick and flint cottage situated in the delightful village of Brampton on the River Bure. It has 2 bedrooms (one leading off the other) and sleeps 2 plus 1 child (possibly 3 adults if they don’t mind the lack of privacy of adjoining bedrooms). The cottage is full of character and retains many original features - such as the Norfolk winder staircase and bread oven. It has full central heating as well as an open fire in the sitting-room. The property is very well-equipped, and the decoration and furnishing is to a high standard. Brampton is ideally placed between Norwich, the North Norfolk coast, and the Broads. There are many lovely walks in the vicinity, several directly from the cottage - the water meadows of the River Bure are a wonderful place to study birds and a favourite spot for water-colourists. Brampton is just 3 miles from the historic market town of Aylsham, and 5 miles from the marvellous National Trust property of Blickling Hall. As well as walking, Norfolk is a great place for cycling and canoes can be hired locally for a trip along the river. Brampton is 12 miles from Norwich. 12 miles from Cromer and Overstrand. 7 miles from Wroxham and the Broads.

A stunning Norfolk cottage and an ideal peaceful country getaway. We had a wonderful weekend away and loved all the original features of this traditional 200 year old property alongside the comfortable additions of modern living. The location suited us perfectly to reach a lovely seal beach at Horsey Gap and trip to Great Yarmouth. Norwich wasn't far away and we walked along the river there on our first evening. There's a great fish and chip shop in the next village at Buxton, only a short drive. The cottage has everything you’ll need in the form of appliances, including a dishwasher and washing machine. The shower is lovely and powerful, very relaxing after a day on the beach. The bedrooms are larger than expected with comfortable beds. The three of us, found the property had plenty of space for us all. Our daughter didn’t mind having an adjoining room. You will find your stay very cosy and welcoming. Parking isn’t far from the cottage, it is opposite Street Farm entrance on The St next to the paper and bottle recycling containers which we made use of. Highly recommended accommodation. We will definitely come back again.

The cottage had heat and hot water. Some of the Electrical Appliances and furniture needed updating. And it should be explained that the stairs are very narrow and not suitable for anyone with a disability.

we stayed 3 nights in October, the cottage is beautiful and rustic, very well equipped with all you could need or want, parking is not a problem as there is a large lay by/pull in 20 yards from the cottage well off the lane. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you Fiona.

The property , was has described , clean and tidy well located . The only problem my wife and I had . Was the heating was not on when we arrived and we had problems with it while we were here . Hot water wasn’t on long enough . Overall this place needs some loving care and attention . A combo boiler would be more efficient and give consent hot water . A welcome pack would have been nice and bath towels provide would be good too. Maybe we have been spoilt in the past . Hope Fiona takes this on board going forward it would make this property a 1st class accommodations while keeping the authentic Look of the property . Location spot on . Maybe the little bit of land beside the house could be tidied up and made into a car parking space .

Although the cottage appears small, there was pretty much every amenity inside (we only found the hair dryer when we were leaving). We did a wash half way through our two week stay and it dried really quickly as the cottage was so cosy and warm.
It was a great base for exploring Norfolk. We are keen birdwatchers so could get to Cley quite easily (where we also so an otter) and even managed a 6.30am start at Snettisham to witness a spectacular Knot murmuration.
Enjoyed the independent cinema in Cromer and loved Sculthorpe Owl and Hawk reserve.
Tried to see the aurora as quite dark skies in Bramford but unfortunately wasn't successful.

Tiny cottage
The cottage suited our needs for a late booked weekend away. Unfortunately it was quite tired and also needed a good clean. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone else.

Wonderful cottage
I used the cottage for two nights as a base for hair and make up on my wedding day and also as accommodation for two of my bridesmaids. Kate checked us in and came to get a photo of me in my dress! She is such a lovely person and was there to help with anything we might’ve needed. A highlight for me was the little cat I met in the garden, such a sweetie. Thank you so much!

We've had a very relaxing stay in Fiona's cosy cottage, with regular visit's from Stella, the real owner of the house. ;-) She is a friendly cat and we shared a beautiful small garden that invites you to read, watch the birds and just enjoy the sunshine.
Lovely walks are just around the corner, don't miss Oxnead Hall and the adjacent amazing water meadows. Blickling Hall is a 10 min. drive and well worth visiting, with beautiful shops and gardens.
In the evenings we enjoyed a drink at the open fireplace.
Fiona was a great host, and we had a wonderful time. Thank you very much!

Absolutely beautiful cottage
Have just got back from a 2 night stay with my sister and was blown away by this lovely little find.
This cottage is quaint, quirky and absolutely beautiful.
It has everything you need including a working log fire which we definitely made the most of in these past two chilly April nights.
The beds were so comfy and warm and the kitchen is kitted out with everything and more.
The area is stunning and we even took a couple of late night walks up the lanes to see St Peter’s church under the stars.
Fiona, the owner is so lovely and welcoming as is her cat Stella who paid us a visit for a little while and a lot of fuss!
The pictures are informative but doesn’t do it justice as it’s much much better than we expected.
Will definitely be going back!
Thank you 😊

Great base to see Norfolk
We had a nice weekend in this cute cottage, with quite a few original features. Lovely local walks & a good base to visit places in North Norfolk. I would just mention that the stairs are very steep if you are not steady on your feet, but wasn’t a problem for us. Thanks Fiona for your warm welcome

Lovely quaint character cottage. We loved our stay. Beautiful quiet location we saw a baby deer next to our car on our final morning.
The village is very interesting and has 2 beautiful churches within walking distance.
The Bure Valley narrow gauge steam railway also runs through it.
