The perfect stay for a solo long weekend

Great location 2 mins from the train station and free shuttle bus stop to the slopes. Sauna and cold plunge open from 3-10pm 👌🏼 New rooms on floors 3 and 4 were great too.

The common areas are yet to be renovated and are quite old school, but still clean enough.

I asked and received a family room, renovated, facing the mountains. The room is amazing - large windows, beautiful design, comfortable beds, relaxing colors. An amazingly inviting and pleasant room. One of the best I stayed-in in a hotel, definitely in the alps / ski resorts.

Breakfast was ok. There are 9 stairs from the parking to the elevator - not easy with luggage and aching knees.

Comfortable base for discovery of wonderful Engelberg

Nicely situated in the center of Engelberg, the hotel offers large rooms, a big breakfast buffet and comes with very friendly and helpful staff.

This old style hotel would welcome some inside refurbishment.

Lovely hotel in the centre, friendly and helpful. Engleberg did not disappoint, just beautiful!

The family room we stayed in is way overdue for a renovation. The carpets, bathroom, and all furniture are extremely old and need to be replaced. The mini-refrigerator was also barely functional. The electrical outlets were also in terrible locations for charging electronic devices.

Beautiful room, an excellent value

Beautifully renovated rooms with luxurious bedding. Such a lovely bathroom. Looked better in person than the photos. All so comfortable. Such a great value. Excellent sound proofing. Good breakfast.

Reception and lounge could use renovation but not a big deal since the room was so perfect. Would be nice if the room fridge were operating but they kindly put my food in the ground floor fridge.

Great place to spend a night

Very modern room for what otherwise appeared to be an older building. Our room (floor 3) was cool and very quiet. Breakfast was typical for Swiss hotels. Friendly staff. Assortment of drinks to choose from in the in the mini bar. After a long hike in the mountains, Engelberg was a nice little town to spend the night with a variety of restaurants all within a short walking distance. Leaving in the morning by train was super easy (two minutes walk away).

Hotel Schweizerhof is a beautiful historic hotel. I read about the family and hotel history, and that's why I wanted to experience it. Just an awesome place to stay. Right by the train station, the hotel couldn't be in a better location. Free parking is always appreciated. And our room was awesome! Very spacious! Great view! Great breakfast, and finally our kind Gentleman Receptionist was amazing explaining everything to us. Just a great guy!

We booked the room at a very short notice, literally 10 minutes before checking in. Everything was great, an extra bed for our child was added in just a few minutes and we could enjoy our stay in Engelberg.

An extraordinary experience

I had a few questions before our arrival at the hotel and received the answers from Adrian promptly. It was very warm and cozy in the rooms we booked. It is a great benefit that it is possible to manually adjust the temperature of the radiator in the rooms we booked. We turned the heating off for the night. Loved the tables during the breakfast reserved for the quests with their names on them :). Lady who assisted during the breakfast was so nice and polite, I asked her a few times for a few cups of espresso. It was so convenient we could purchase Titlis ski passes directly at the reception in the hotel. Prices are the same as at the Titlis tickets desk or via the Titlis website. We got our cards at the reception too, it saved us time standing in the queue at the Titlis ticket desk. Brilliant customer service. Very welcoming atmosphere, thank you so much Adrian, Sascha, and all the team! We arrived to Engelgerg by train. Very comfortable 2.45 h journey. The views were breathtaking. Engelberg is a very convenient location. While we had our fittings of shoes and snowboards in the Intersport rent Titlis, the weather changed dramatically, mist, fog, or clouds, and in ten minutes clear skies again. The landscape changes very fast. Our hotel was so close to the train station. We found everything so close by in walking proximity. The lockers for rent at the train station were very handy, we needed to store our backpacks the ones we did not carry to Titlis on our departure day from the hotel. We could though leave them at the Hotel Echweizerhof, Adrian was so kind to look after them. It was an extraordinary experience, we can't wait to go back and explore more.
