Great room, pool, restaurant at seaside and the staff is kind... but there is something odd about this place.
It feels like the staff is not super well trained and a bit "tense" or "stressed".
My feeling is that maybe the manager/boss is so focused on money that he/she forgets to actually inspire, motivate and train the team. Not easy to put a finger on it.
At other places in Sri Lanka, I felt I got the service first.. which made me want to pay.. Here it feels like they do nothing before they see the money... I don't feel it is the staff's fault. I wonder if it is the management...?
Also, as I left, I wanted to have a closed/actual car taxi, not a Tuk Tuk, so I ordered through PickMe app.
My driver was approached and actually threneted by some TukTuk drivers outside the hotel as he picked me up.
Wonder if this place is somehow connected to "mafia".
I left unsetteled about this place.
