Charming Apartmeat in Rochecarbon

The apartment was extremely comfortable. Quiet location, easy access, antiquey decor. Very charming. I enjoyed it all & will be back.

Delightful! Perfect location and perfect hosts!

Beautiful, and fascinating location and the hosts were so generous with the fabulous shared garden. Such an interesting house, village and location. Perfect. Cafe Corbon, approx 100 metres away was fantastic as was the boulangerie! Hosts were very friendly, made some brilliant suggestions of local things we might like to do. But we were also very private in our little villa. Rochecorbon is a very pretty and interesting village, with lots of great walks. Super to walk to Vouvray for some wine tasting, then stroll back along the lanes through the many many vineyards! The River Loire, was 3 mins walk away; very beautiful! We were there for 2 weeks and didn't travel further than 30 miles in any direction; so much to see and do locally. And we loved just relaxing at home and in the village. Recommend going to local car boot sales! Great finds and an excellent chance to speak French! Lots of fun and people are so friendly. Recommend Tours and Loches. But so much to enjoy!

Blinds in the kitchen would have been great! It was very hot and very bright!!

Splendid

Situated in a restored mill from the 10th century, this has proven to be a perfect location to explore the region around Tours and the Loire valley. The house is big enough for a family of 4 and all the necessary facilities were there. Hygiene is excellent. In term of surroundings, there is a bakery and a small supermarket just around the corner. Moreover, you can walk alongside the river Loire into Tours (+/- 1 hour) and in the village (Rochecorbon) is a flea market on Sundays.

Great location due to proximity to Tours, access to family cycling track and the hosts - Fredrique and Nicholas who went out of their way to make your stay memorable.

Probably internet speed, door locks/ handles and kitchen needs minor refurbishment.

Lovely quiet Hideaway in the Loire Valley

This was a real hideaway, but was easy location for Tours and the Loire Valley. The hosts were really friendly and welcoming.

Although the garden cottage was ideal in size and decor, it was quite dark, which was not helped by the cloudy weather during our stay. But it was unfortunate that it was always in the shade; some reduction in the height of the surrounding bamboo would help with some extra light. I’m sure earlier in the season it would feel a little brighter.

Comfortable accommodation in an excellent location.

Excellent location, comfortable, spacious accommodation

The original property we booked had a balcony (for a sunny breakfast), the upgrade we were offered was in the shade. This would have been excellent in mid summer, but not so much in October. However, the property had heating and we were plenty warm enough - just didn't see the sun first thing!

Lovely gite in a great spot

A wonderful setting in a pretty village next to the Loire. The gite was spacious and well-equipped with easy access to Tours (about an hour on foot along the river or ten minutes by car) and nearby towns and vineyards.

Enjoyable stay, very convenient for exploring the area. Nice Italian restaurant a few minutes away.

The apartment has very thick walls so was nice and cool relative to outside. It was upper 30s while we were there but inside was mid 20s, although we were still glad we had brought a fan to keep us cool at night. The hosts were very friendly, helpful and responsive. Try the ' La Scala' restaurant - good for covid-times :-)
