We had a really fantastic stay at Haus Monika. The location is literally the best in all Mayrhofen, so close to the main lift and the apres bars. Lots of variety at breakfast and friendly staff. If you are looking for a good value bed and breakfast place with a perfect location Haus Monika fits the bill perfectly.

I particularly appreciated the property’s very central location within the charming village of Mayrhofen, which made it exceptionally convenient to explore the surrounding area. I also greatly enjoyed having a room with a mountain-facing view, which created a peaceful and scenic atmosphere throughout my stay

As a non-smoker, I found the persistent smell of cigarette smoke in the corridor quite unpleasant and off-putting during my stay. I am unsure whether indoor smoking is permitted, but the odour was noticeable. Although I am not vegan or vegetarian, I found the breakfast selection to be largely centred around animal-based products, with very limited alternatives for guests who prefer lighter or more plant-focused options. It may be worthwhile for the property to consider offering a broader variety to accommodate different dietary preferences.

The guesthouse is really great when you look at its location (opposite the Penkenbahn lift!), it has a good breakfast and is cleaned well. However, we had mixed feelings about the hospitality. Upon arrival we found out that we had to store our snowboards in a room downstairs. In itself a convenient idea in terms of keeping the hotel tidy, but the room was unsupervised and accessible from outside - not a nice idea for someone with expensive gear. When we pointed this out, we were addressed very unkindly about this. Perhaps we are too cautious, but some empathy in this would have been nice. Although the pension itself is good, the hospitality feeling stayed the same during our stay.
