This was conveniently situated for our purpose. The welcoming system (calling 30 mins prior to arrival) worked efficiently, and access to rooms refreshingly document-free... though the option to pay by bank card would have been appreciated.

The property had a variety of shortcomings, ranging from faulty or non-operating lighting in both the common and private areas (my bedside light, which would have worked) had nowhere to be plugged into!), to a loo that did not flush properly. When a property is specifically built, or modified, to be a place for people to stay overnight, then it should be remembered that a single room cannot be aired in the way a private home can. This becomes abundantly clear when a windowless toilet is appended to the room, and at times of extreme heat. Although my wife and I did have a skylight. The Pension was a heat brick, even with the skylight open until the storm came, but my son and partner had no such luck in their room. The outside area looked inviting, with an outdoor cooking range, until you went outside and discovered that every single garden chair was broken. This could have been dangerous had a guest not noticed before seating themselves. In a largely self-catering establishment without onsite staff, in a village without a restaurant, basic kitchen facilities (a kettle) would have been welcomed. While appreciating te reasonable price of the accommodation, in this day and age it is reasonable to expect air conditioning - especially as it is among the most economic means of heating in cooler weather!
