Amazing stay

We had the most amazing stay in this hotel. Recently renovated, it feels modern yet remains warm and welcoming. Our room was spotless, and we loved the built-in wooden beds and closets. The owners are warm and attentive, doing everything they can to make every guest feel comfortable. Breakfast was delicious, and the location was one of the most beautiful of our trip. There were several trails to explore and lovely mountain views that we could enjoy from the balcony. I would happily return :)

Very friendly host, very easygoing. Diner was delicious, and there was an extensive breakfast buffet. The hotel works with a honesty bar with a large choice of drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), which I found very comfortable. Rooms were clean, comfortable bed. Sauna area was also very nice.

I can’t think of anything negative, we had a short but very enjoyable stay.

The stay was peaceful and quiet very relaxing with beautiful views

The location of the place is amazing absolutely stunning views 😍 it's very quiet not many people around especially during February. This was our second time here unfortunately we didn't know thw ownership changed we were kindly surprised the new owner kept a lot of the ideas from previous owner. The food was okay nothing special The drinks selection was great lots of choice. The self service is fantastic idea. Coffee and tea very good quality.

The drinks were very expensive including water and coffee not just alcoholic drinks. There was a hot tub outside but wasn't functional very disappointed about that The breakfast was okay previous owner definitely had better food quality. Same with dinner small portions okay price but just weird pricing for vegan smaller option yet same price as normal meal with much more food. We made a request from the owner to have wine in our room for arrival as it was our honeymoon, unfortunately she forgot and I had to ask for it to be brought up which ruined the surprise.

Amazing

Beautiful location with an amazing view from the balcony. The rooms were very clean, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was spotless. I was impressed by how friendly the staff were, as well as the entire family that runs this hotel—they truly love what they do.

There is an unpleasant smell coming from the bathroom, but it disappears quickly when you turn on the light and the ventilation starts.

A wonderful experience in Osttirol

The owners and staff are so great, the open philosophy with the drinks, coffee machine and sauna is great, and the homemade dinners were so good. So kind people that the experience is almost like staying with good friends. And the spot is simply incredible, a lot of great wandering routes at hand, or a lot of activities in maximum 15 minutes with auto/bus.

The wifi of the hotel could be better, and for some people the closed menus of the dinners could be a bit off putting.

Everything about our stay was Top. The staff is heaps friendly and welcoming. Facilities are super! Great Sauna in-house. Food is fresh, wholesome and quality can be felt in the taste. Location is beautiful. Our stay there was amazing and can definitely recommend.

What we liked: 1. Self-service concept is unusual but nice. 2. Good location for cross-country skiing and authentic interior of the apartments.

Things that could be done even better: 1. Dinner: you can not order today for today on the day of arrival. 2. Safety: extremely slippery entrance (during our stay). 3. Sauna: the light is off at 8 sharp, even though the wall clock might be not working in the sauna. 4. Breakfast: each egg 🍳 extra 1€, kind of unusual

We loved the food it was soo good and fresh. All natural made by the hotel this included the jams and other things even alcohol.

Inhospitable hosts in a beautiful setting

What they do well here: homemade products like muesli and jam for breakfast, nice wooden interiors, cute sauna area. There's a 24-hour self-service area where you can help yourself to coffee/tea, drinks, and snacks on the honor system. The location is beautiful, right at the end of a gorgeous valley and next to the river. The rooms are simple but nicely decorated.

We had to check out early because I got sick. We had paid in advance, but the owner said there was a problem connecting to the Booking payment service. He said he would need a credit card. I asked him what he was going to charge, and only then did he show me the full amount for the room I had already paid for, plus all the extras. I informed him that I had already paid; he said the payment service wasn't working, therefore he would need to charge me again. I asked politely if this wasn't a problem between the hotel and Booking, whereupon he answered quite rudely: "No. It's not our problem. It's not fair." This meant that I had to call Booking and clear up the problem myself while he just stood there. The money had of course already been transferred, and Booking's customer service called the hotel owner to confirm this fact. There was no gesture of apology, just a muttered "sorry." A little gesture, like waiving the price of a bottle of wine or even a single cup of tea, would have gone a long way. This was unfortunately not the only incident that made us feel unwelcome. We were there with friends, and each time we sat down to breakfast, it seemed we were at the wrong table. We were told in gruff tones: "that's a table for 5" when there were 4 of us. Another time: "that's not a breakfast table." We are both lactose- and gluten-intolerant, and we notified the property of this in advance and asked whether they would be able to accommodate us. They said they would. At breakfast, we heard one of the owners complaining to her family about all these people with special dietary requests. We also found out only on the 2nd day that the vegan milk she had provided the day before was made of spelt, which is not gluten-free. Luckily we are not celiac, only intolerant, otherwise this could have had serious consequences. I wish I could write a better review.

House made food for dinner was really nice. Thanks a lot for the owner family! This facility is really nice as starting spot for hiking anywhere in the valley or in fact for most of Osttirol. (Mountain huts open aroung mid-may and stay open until octobre. We were there before this period, but still had wonderful hikes throughout the valley and the region).

Great hikes, delicious food, relaxation, views...what else one needs?

Great location, with views of the mountains, many hiking possibilities nearby, and all the comfort one needs. Relaxing after a day's hike in the sauna, or enjoying the quiet surroundings was the perfect finish to several of our days there. The hosts were always helpful, with great recommendations for us, they prepared delightful food; plus they were simply great company to have

The most cosy and heart-warming location to get lost in the Austrian Alps.

The Heimat is the perfect stay for a hiking trip to get lost in the mountains. The staff and the location are heart-warming. The location is remote and very cosy. If you are a trained hiker, the surrounding mountains are perfect. For your health a big variety of options is offered in the “Badehaus”. Learning more about mountain herbs and exploring the area is also covered by different courses. Highly recommend if you want to relax, go on intense hikes and get lost. If you’re in search for the next lift to the summit, you may consider another location ;)
