Stadthotel Hauser Eck

The location was great for going to frequency festival, about 7 minutes from train station. Easy check-in/out.

Nice hotel in the center of the city. If you want to experience the inside of a Jugendstil house, this is the place to do so. Easy check-in and quite cozy.

The bathrooms need a bit of love.

The hotel is located in center, near nice restaurants and coffee shops like Schubert. The train station is less than 10min from the hotel, so you can take a quick trip to Vienna comfortably (and getting the week pass for about 70 euro also allows for access to transit to all of Vienna as well as the train ride to and from Vienna and St Polten). Got a nice spacious room with a double bed as well for a single person. Also the shower was clean and during the day you didn’t have to wait for the water to heat up (sometime after 10pm you might have to wait a minute). Lastly, it’s pretty much all self check in and out, so if that’s important for someone then this place, even though old, accommodates to that very well.

Because the hotel is old, a lot of the facilities may be funky. With the bathroom light switch you had to press really hard to turn it on or the elevator on the base floor sometimes didn’t sense people walk in and would close on a person so you just had to be a little careful. Also the breakfast is very limited and the same every day, which could be a good or bad thing.

Good location on the edge of the old town, easy to reach everything on foot. Friendly staff. Self check-in via code and key box was simple and worked well. No on-site parking but paid parking available across the street at another hotel.

Reception open only a few hours in the morning. No air conditioning, which can be uncomfortable during hot days. Cleanliness left much to be desired. Breakfast was very minimal, with limited choice and no hot dishes except soft-boiled eggs.
