Good stay, decent food, great beach

Beachfront property with plenty of sunbeds available along with beach towels, all for free. Beach is rocky the first few meters but then it’s all fine sand, with clean and shallow water for at least 20-30 meters ahead. Finding parking was also never an issue. Good breakfast and dinner options each day. Staff was very kind and helpful. Bed sheets, towels and pillowcases were clean and replaced often. Nearest store is walking distance. Met the manager upon leaving who was very kind and informed us that they plan on renovating the place for the following season.

Old rooms, bathroom and furniture, in need of renovation. Wardrobe smelled musty due to the humidity. Ants are everywhere even if you don’t leave food around, but this is probably an issue in the whole area since there’s nature all around. Fridge wasn’t working properly and you can barely fit a bottle of water inside. I’d expect a coffee machine or kettle in the room but you had to pay for coffee that’s better than the buffet option. Hopefully after renovation there will be higher value for money.

We enjoied staying at this hotel. It was the second time and the staff upgraded our room to seaside view. We liked very much the room with a large balcony, the diverse and tasty food and the clean beach. The personnel is very attentive and make all is necessary for a very nice stay

Although the location was good, I don't think I will return!

Good location, good size of the room

The bed for my child wasn't a proper bed, it was like garden furniture with very thin mattress which was very uncomfortable. Bathroom wasn't cleaned during our stay, they just changed the towels. There wasn't any air conditioning in the restaurant, it was so hot, if you sit outside you are attacked by wasps. There wasn't any drinks included in the dinner, not even a water! And that's 5 stars hotel!

Choose this resort for a peaceful and beautiful holiday with your family or as a couple. We will be back next year.

The location, the sea, the breakfast, the buffet dinner. But above all, thanks to the wonderful staff, especially to the business manager, George Kappra, for his kindness and hospitality, to Dina for her wonderful recommendations at the Atrium bar, to Michalis for making delicious cocktails, and to Sofia and Sotos for their pleasant conversation and refreshments at the pool bar.

Leisurely comfortable hotel. Great view, beautiful sea and not too crowded compared to other packed beaches in Thassos.

Room we stayed needed a lrenovation especially in the bathroom. Not like a real 5-star hotel experience, definitely and urgently requires maintenance

Good location

It wasn’t clean, mould in the bathroom, cushions were ripped and dirty same with the bathrobes. Facilities were not well maintained and most of the staff were neither polite nor friendly.

Perfect

I’ve been staying at this hotel regularly and I can’t recommend it enough. The place is elegant, comfortable, and full of charm — and what truly makes the difference is the warm, helpful staff and the professional, kind management. Every time I come back, I feel genuinely welcomed and well taken care of. The food is excellent, the rooms are spotless, and the whole experience feels personal and sincere. I’m surprised to see such negative comments, as they don’t reflect the reality I’ve experienced here, time and time again.

2 star hotel

The only good thing is the beach, really close and nice.

Everything else. Very mediocre experience overall. The hotel is very old and everything is in a bad condition. This was 5 stars when it was first opened a looong time ago. Old furniture and rusty, bathroom is moldy and has dirt that was never cleaned up. Walls are cracked, floor tiles has cracks etc. Breakfast is good, dinner not so good, very few options and not very kid friendly from my perspective. Manager is very rude, he told me to relax when I complained about the room, he knows that everything is old but a new 5 star hotel costs 2000 euro/night and I should stop complaining and then he left. Pool is big, but same problem, not well maintained. Definitely will not come back here again. 1 star is for the beach, everything else looks like 1990.

Our stay at Ilio Mare Beach Hotel was absolutely perfect in every way. The hotel exceeded our expectations in terms of comfort and service. It’s a great place for families with children – safe, fun, and very well thought-out. The staff were incredibly attentive and helpful throughout our stay. The rooms were clean, spacious, and very comfortable. We would definitely recommend this place and are already thinking about coming back

Great preseason stay in Thassos

The staff was very friendly and helpful, exactly how it should be. The pool was great with music, and the lady at the pool bar was super nice. Food was very tasty with different options every day. Lot of great sweets and ice cream ! Beach was clean and comfy with pillows and hotel towels. Every room was situated to have a great view of the sea or the pool area. Big plus - the hotel has a small gym with old school equipment, where you could do a proper quick workout to stay in shape. We will come again.

The rooms were outdated, but it didn't bother us that much. They were very clean. The gym could have more equipment and more dumbell options, please !

Fair price. Not a 5 star experience

Nice location. Room was spacious, cozy. Food was ok. Staff was nice to help solve some issues with our room, and some of it got solved. Price was fair for the facilities.

Drinks were not included in the dinner, even for water you had to pay separately. There was a weird constant noise coming from the electrical safety box, which wasn't solved even after asking the staff for help, so we had to sleep without electricity on. Very small TV, for which the remote didn't work at first.

We were greeted by a very attentive staff to our needs. The rooms were very well chosen, we had a problem with the bathroom, but it was quickly resolved. What we really liked was the attitude of the manager who was always between employees and tourists, but especially at departure when he wanted to wish each of us "good luck".

Wouldn’t come back

We stayed in this hotel last year for four nights and we liked it a lot so decided to come this year again, but with some family. Everything was ok, but unfortunately the quality has dropped in comparison to what we got last year. Service was extremely slow everywhere - at the beach, in the restaurant, in the lobby bar. There is plenty of staff, but you wait for 20 minutes for a beer or a mojito. No hostess in the restaurant or the beach, beach towels take forever to be delivered. It is a decent place, but definitely not 5* and very overpriced for the quality of service.

Almoast a 4 star hotel with 5 star facilities

Credeit where credit is due, the beach is amazeing; the location itself also is very well layed-out. There is a nice swimming pool, and a nice garden. There is a lot of wasted potential there.

Where should I start... The quality of the experience is inconsistent Breakfast and dinner are below expectations for a 5 star hotel. The food was too salty, and at dinner, the drinks cost extra, and the bill can not be put on the room number. Also, the prices are outrageous: 2.5 euro for a 1l bottle of watter, when in a shop close by, a 1.5l bottle of the same brand is 0.5 euros. Also, the manager used every trick in the book in order to practicaly buy a 10/10 review score from me, which I found disappointing. In order for everything to meet expectations for a 5 star hotel, the meals should be revised, and rooms should be renovated.

We are dissapointed

• The wardrobe was very poor. There were no shelves inside at a convenient height to place underwear and clothes. There was only one shelf placed highest above the clothes hanger rod, which was extremely inconvenient for everyday clothing. The clothes hanger rod had 6 hangers, one of which was broken. In one of the compartments, there were 3 small drawers, low in height, which were insufficient for a family of 4 with 2 small children. The wardrobe doors were sagging. • The air conditioner had moments when it did not respond to the remote control. The remote control screen showed that the air conditioner was turned on, but it wasn't. • One of the most unpleasant experiences was the time frame when the hotel's garbage truck arrived. This happened exactly during breakfast time and right beneath the path to the restaurant, so every person going to have breakfast would experience the horrible smell that spread just before eating. • The pool opened at 10:00 AM in the morning, even though there were people ready for it as early as 9:00 AM. Additionally, the cleaning of the sun loungers often started around that time, and for a 5-star hotel, it was an extremely unpleasant sight to go and settle on a sun lounger only to see abandoned towels, full ashtrays, and crushed drink cups from the previous evening on the tables. • The restaurant lacked proper ventilation, and during dinner, the temperature was unbearably hot.

A short stay it was all awesome

It was all very well. Spacious room, cleaning is done daily, the staff was very friendly. The food was diversified and very well prepared. The hotel manager is a special person who provided all the necessary information for a very nice stay.

Nice pleasent place requires refurbishment

Architecture, beech, pools, bar, staff friendly and professional.

Bed matraces, pillows and beddings unaceptably low quality and uncomfortable for any accomodation that charges fees. Very basic cheapest Plastic chairs at the balcony! Bad smell from the sewer! Cleanliness of the pools must improve especially the small one for kids. Food quality should improve seriously.
