Transamerica Executive Bela Cintra (Paulista)

I have been staying in flats in SP for many years and had actually stayed at Transamerica a number of years ago. Given my past experience, my expectations were not high. I must say, I was pleasantly surprised. The flat itself was in pretty good shape. It was clean and the mattress was great. They had put 2 twin beds together to make it a queen and there was a light switch on the wall that was meant to be between the 2 beds. Whenever I turned over during the night I would inadvertently turn on the light, which was jarring. Given my proximity to the elevator, there was a constant dinging that seemed to accompany anyone calling the elevator. It might be worthwhile to request a flat away from the elevator if you are a light sleeper. As in all flats, there was a kitchenette with very basic cutlery and plates - 2 of everything and a microwave. I am glad that I didn’t have food to prepare as it was pretty rudimentary. There was a frigobar which surprised me. I didn’t know that that these still existed? As it was stocked with merchandise, there was very little room for perishables a guest might want to buy and store for themselves. The breakfast buffet is top notch. The selection is great and includes fresh fruit, baked goods, eggs, cereal and a selection of coffee drinks. If you are English, bring your own tea as black tea is not provided and is in fact difficult to find in SP overall. Overall my stay was great. The staff is top notch - friendly and very helpful. I will definitely return.

O quarto é bem espaçoso, ainda mais considerando que se localiza a 1 quadra e meia da Av. Paulista. Cama confortável, ducha excelente, mesa de trabalho espaçosa. No meu caso, peguei tarifa muito boa então o custo-benefício não poderia ser melhor.

I was originally assigned to a first-floor room instead of the specific floor I had requested when making my booking. Despite my extreme fatigue after a nearly 23-hour flight, I found it difficult to rest due to a party being held by other guests in their room, which was audible from the reception area. I promptly requested to be moved to a higher floor as per my initial preference. It seems that the hotel tends to allocate that floor for guests waiting for 'certain' female guests to the higher floors, so I strongly recommend always requesting and insisting on a higher floor when making a reservation.
