A good hotel for a short break

Excellent food, friendly staff.

Wellness facilities were rather cold. The heating was too low and it made it difficult to relax and enjoy.

It's good enough

Overall, the hotel in Venlo was quite nice. There was a small pool and a sauna area, which we appreciated, although not everything was working perfectly — for example, the steam room didn’t produce enough steam to be effective. The location is lovely, with a park and a lake nearby, which sounds ideal in theory. However, while the lake is close, it’s not really suitable for swimming. There are a lot of ducks and geese living there, and unfortunately, the entire lake area is heavily soiled with bird droppings. We were told at reception that swimming is allowed, but honestly, it didn’t feel safe or hygienic. I’m not blaming the birds — they’re just living their lives — but I do think it's important for future guests to know this in advance. If you're looking for a beach day by the water, this might not be the right spot. Another issue we had was dinner. We waited over an hour and a half for our food, with a small child, and it turned out our order had simply been forgotten. We were cold, the baby was cold, and we ended up sitting there until almost 9 PM. Yes, they brought us some complimentary fries, and the staff were kind and friendly overall, but if I hadn’t asked about our food, I don’t think anyone would have noticed. Despite these issues, there were still things we enjoyed — but hopefully this helps others set the right expectations before booking.

The steam room in the spa area didn’t work properly — there was barely any steam, so it wasn’t really effective. Although the lake is nearby, it's not suitable for swimming. There are too many ducks and geese, and the area is heavily covered in droppings. We were told it was okay to swim there, but it really didn’t feel safe or clean. Dinner service was very disappointing. Our order was completely forgotten, and we had to wait over 1.5 hours with a small child. No one noticed until we asked. While we were offered free fries as an apology, the experience was frustrating and uncomfortable.

Good experience, recommend and nice hotel

I had a very good stay for 1 night with my husband, we too the tower suit and I was surprised to see that the room is exactly pr even better that the photos , its luxurious , lots pf space and very well decorated . The only downside is that there is no noise isolation , so all night long we could hear very well the cars across the street . And that affected the atmosphere and was a bit of struggle . We also had breakfast included, I believe that breakfast could improve way more. But beside that great experience.

Tom Kah Kay on dinner Medicard was not Tom Kah Kay as that should have contained as least chicken and sufficient coconut milk. It contained merely tauge and spring onion and little coconut milk. Disappointing for people that know and appreciate the Thai kitchen.

Great views of trees and lake even from side room. Good food, wine list seemed good even by the glass, fabulous location in summer for outdoor activities ! Helpful and polite staff. Free water and nice coffee in room . Relaxed atmosphere.

The jets weren’t working in the pool - on Monday morning anyway. In the week the traffic noise not great, but then - easy access from motorway.

Terrible for a 4 Star Hotel

It’s in a good location as there is a lake and a small beach beside it. Most of the staff was friendly and accommodating.

My room had parts of the wall missing and had a heavy oil smell. None of the staff was willing to do anything to make things better for me.

Location just one minute out of the highway.

Cleanliness needs improvement. Breakfast is very basic. Lack of waitress service namely during breakfast. Dangerous electrical parts left on the bathroom pending on the walls. A/C not working. Lots of dust everywhere. Definitely not clean room.

if you have a car between 30-60 grand stay here , it’s right up you alley

Hotel, your bog standard guy with a Mercedes place to stay, when I got in I was rather excited, then I realised when I got to my room there were some small children giggling behind my door, so I was like, hold on wait a minute, that ain’t right, so basically some people were already in my room which is weird because I had a dream about it the week before, very sad when we did get the room because I couldn’t watch the brothers grimsby, not really hotels thought I would mention, anyway nice balcony, only one chair where my wife was displeased because she had to sit on the floor in 5 degrees while I cracked open a stella on the table. Anyhoo ,alright hotel , and was near toverland which had a right smashing ride called the mad house , made me chuckle in my 53 year old body , anyway go here if you want and feel bad for the person who lives directly across from the hotel , must get on his wick .

Lovely place for walks

Location of the hotel is fantastic,there are two lakes and lots of places to walk and enjoy

Few things I really didn't enjoy during my stay: Room was quite outdated and little things missing in the room ,for example the tab for the bath or the back cover of the controller. Restaurant was lovely however I had always to ask stuff for attention ,ask for menu,ask for drinks......not very pleasurable dining.

Decent room with a balcony overlooking the lake (nice view). Bar and dinner area were smart, good staff and good range of food which was all very good quality.

Room was a little dated and could do with a refit (old curtains, carpets etc). I was above the bar area and it was not noisy at all except for furniture being dragged around at 6am!

Lovely location.

Did asked for cot, but given extra bed instead and been charged for them, which is very expensive. The rooms weren't cleaned and coffee and tea weren't replaced.
