Villa Ira

The hosts are incredibly friendly and welcoming — greeting us with wine, fresh fruit, and a delicious homemade orange cake. They were also very helpful with recommendations throughout our stay. The villa is spacious, offering 250 sqm spread over two floors. From the 2nd-floor terrace, the view is simply stunning — you can see both the bay and the city of Chania. The location is excellent: within walking distance to a grocery store and the lively Tavern Irene, which serves delicious yet affordable food with live music. The beach is just a 3–4 minute drive away. A delightful and unexpected bonus was that our host, Lily, has a daughter the same age as my son. They enjoyed playing together despite speaking different languages, and Lily kindly provided us with toys to take to the beach. Highly recommended — especially for families with children.

We had a great family vacation in Crete, staying for seven nights at Villa IRA, which is beautiful, clean and very well arranged. The house is absolutely gorgeous, tasteful and endowed with all the necessary equipment and air conditioning in all rooms. It is located in a quiet area and has a wonderful terasse on the balcony with view to the sea as well as barbeque area outside, which we very much enjoyed in the evenings. Diana and Robert are excellent hosts, who respectfully and warmheartedly welcomed us and offered excellent home made dishes. They also recommended a few excellent places to go to which we grately enjoyed. All the family had a great time there and we certainly hope to return. Strongly recommend to people who enjoy their time in a nice, clean and cosy home.

Beautiful house, quality-built and furnished very tastefully. All appliances and air con were in excellent order. Crockery and cutlery were not only of high quality but there were plenty available. High end toiletries were supplied, made it feel like a hotel - lovely touch. There was even a smart TV in the lounge (just wish there were some channels in English). An excellent taverna and a supermarket are nearby. Local beaches are lovely, but recommend hiring a car, as they are not really within walking distance. Hosts were fantastic - helpful, friendly and there when you need them. When we arrived, there was a freshly baked cake (delicious!), a bowl of fruit, and a bottle of wine waiting for us, and home made jams, olives and cooled water in the fridge! Our hosts even invited us for a delicious barbecue one evening! Thank you Lilly, you made our holiday really special!
